Im sure that sounds better in person. I have a 5th Gen turbo'd w/a a full race cat and exhaust and its sounds nothing like that. I am assuming that you didn't use a full cat back exhaust and are just using a diff muffler. Anyway not trying to rain on your parade keep it up - curious to see what youre workin with on the outside of the car.

I have the exact same model, with all that power, 1st gear is a cockblocker, i never use it unless i'm on a steep hill and i don't wanna slip the clutch. When i pop the clutch, i can hit 60 in about 5.5 to 6 secs starting with the 2nd, when i use 1st gear, it always over 6.5 secs coz of how long it takes to engage from 1st to 2nd. All i got is an exhaust and an intake. Oh yea, plus i weigh the same as a chicken, 120lbs.

this is what im running (2000 honda prelude h22a4 new head, lifters, cams and headers aem pulley with underdrive pulley aem cold air intake dc tension bars all around dual hayami exhuast) im pushin 230 hp 186 tq 15.2 qtr @ 93 mph Vtec VAFC yes they do work but only when you have intake manifold cams headers and larger injectors help this if if you want the vafc to work to its fullest if you have it use it

You're not pushing 230hp, I bet your car puts down 165 to the wheels MAX if you're running 15.2s....I've never ran a 15.anything and I have a k/n drop in filter, cheap ebay 2.25 catback, and a basemapped p28. My worst run was a 14.9 and I had trouble getting into 2nd plus I cut a 2.45 60 foot time.

@muliskman buddy has one in his civic hatch he had his set to 3400 to kick in, but he wen even lower to like 2 something an it messed up his idle or something. or cause check engine light to come on, i think there worth it if u want your vtech to kick in sooner

But No, they are NOT worth it. VTEC controller is just to adjust the engagement point of crossover. HONDA already adjusted the engagement point at its peak.
