  • Nigel kinda looks like a Biker Mice From Mars...

  • "with respect, national geographic!" so good.

  • chuck norris sneezed on a rock....

  • i got myself a drill....and built it

  • With all due respect, *National* Geographic.

  • I wonder if stonehenge goes to 11

  • ITS NOT NIGEL TUFNEL...ITS DAVE MUSTAINE

  • Tufnel's credentials as a socianthrogeopolicist are weak at best. To give but one example of his malinformation: It is common knowledge that the ancient Incas referred to gold as "the sweat of the sun", yet Spinal Tap released an album entitled "The Sun Never Sweats". Methinks the multitasking Mr. Tufnel should go back to working on the "folding wine glass" that he's been attempting to perfect for years: leave the past to the future and concentrate on what would make a lovely present. 1b2s

  • Dunka is what we called him. Dunka.

  • 26 people did not get themselves a drill

  • "Have you read any books on Stonehenge?"

"I read that book Catcher in the Rye."

  • is that a periodic table on his shirt? :D

  • good theory nigel but your are wrong. stonehenge was built by gorrilas. they used the circle as a place to sun bathe, and occasoinal orgies. scribbles the australian juggalo (from denver)

  • wait! hes not real?!?!??!?!??!?!?

  • @realmenwearpants Unfortunately not.

  • Brilliant!!!!!!!!

  • Ha ha! Well it was only fourteen inches wasn't it? Should be perfectly easy for one man.

  • Dunca, how ya doin?

  • Stonehedge is not one of a kind but actually one of the last examples of a long tradition of megalithic construction that spanned from Caucasus to western Europe. In fact, there is even a Stonehedge like structure in Armenia called Karahunge. Check it. And the name Karahunge (not inspired by Stonehedge of course!!!) means black-hunge while Stonehedge means... stone-hedge... which implies that hunge or hedge was the word that ancient builders used to describe their structure.

  • @notgodsemigod The most interesting part is that Karahunge predates Stonehedge by about 4000 years. In the meanwhile there was progression of megalithic construction throughout Minor Asia, Greece, then Sicily, Malta, Corsica, then south France and from South France to Britain. And this progression was actually linked to the move of agriculture, either via a population transfer either via "induction" by means of sea-trade.

  • @notgodsemigod But of course the builder of Karahunge was Dunkan... actually his full name was Dunkanian... haha!

  • @notgodsemigod

That was nice, man, but I still like Nigel's hypothesis better.

  • Christopher Guest claims Nigel was not based on Jeff Beck.

    I do not believe him.

  • @DejectedPanda Actually, he's kind of a hybrid between Jeff Beck and early Eric Clapton (from the Yardbirds/Bluesbreakers days), perhaps some Ronnie Wood thrown in there, maybe Keith Richards' attitude, and with some occasional jabs at Jimmy Page.

  • @gaelicviking The look is pure Beck anyway.

  • @gaelicviking White 1728 BCC/CIP patrol

  • @gaelicviking he's based on a band, specifically a bass player that Christopher Guest saw checking into a hotel in L.A. He's too much of a gentleman to name who it was, but that's where the original idea for Spinal Tap came from, and it's what Tufnel was originally based on.

  • Does he mean Duncan, the guy from Monarch of the Glen?

  • @nellgwen48 I guess he relates to Seymour Duncan humbucker, maybe.

  • @FelicianB Did Seymour Duncan Humbucker have a drill?

  • The interviewer should be commended for being able to keep a straight face during that.

  • So, stonehenge was duncan designed? OHOHO

  • Is Nigel wearing a periodic-table-Tshirt?

  • @metaldudeable I think it's a "Heavy Metal" joke

  • @metaldudeable It certainly looks like one. I guess it's supposed to give him some sort of credibility? Been meaning to get a periodic table shower curtain, but I haven't seen any that include Copernicium yet.

  • Damn....I just wet myself from laughing!

  • Duncan the builder? MAN he's friggin stupid. Good thing his responsibilities in life stop with the guitar.

"It is far better to remain silent and have people think you're a fool than to speak and remove all doubt"

  • @mdr6273 you sound like a twat therfore you have removed any doubt from my mind that you are a twat

  • @Danthemagicman22 Duncan was your dad or something? I'm not trying to attack your family lineage or anything.... It's just that despite his musical ability 'ol Nigel is a retard.

  • @mdr6273 whenever someone has a go at a fictional character it makes them look like a twat who believes its all real.

I think that is what Danthemagicman22 is referring to.

  • @azmanntoz AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA does that moron think Nigel is a real person? LOLOLOLOLOLOL wow... now that is funny, even funnier than this video. Wow, some people just don't get it. Amazing.

  • @mdr6273 You're an idiot. Plain and simple.

  • @mdr6273 you do realize that Nigel Tufnel is a fictional character that is "PLAYED" by comedic actor Christopher Guest?

  • Comment removed

  • Note to any yanks. No Englishman actually pronounces the word "Like" as "Lioke".This is Dick Van Dyke cockney. Nobody but Dick VD has ever spoken like this.

  • @SvenTviking Well Christopher Guest is a Baron in the U.K. so he can say it however the hell he wants. Also, we Yanks really don't give a damn how you pronounce the word "Like", let us keep our stereotypes about you, it's the only thing that makes you interesting.

  • @jbrown1169 Mate, I was not taking a pop at Americans. Just Dick Van Dyke and Christopher Guest who should know better. The guy got to vote on acts of parliament when he had a seat in the house of lords, the least he could do is research his accent. Its normally pretty good. The only yanks I have ever heard who could do authentic cockney was Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of KISS. Dropped H and glottal stop perfect!

  • @SvenTviking I know man, I was just messing with you a bit.

  • Uhhh....well......??

  • a fuckin legend

  • DUNCAN CONSTRUCTION!

  • @WhoTheGreat: In a jar, on his desk.

  • welll I-uh got myself a drill, and I built it. LOL!!!

  • who keeps clicking dislike

  • Amazingly hilarious! Amazing....

  • This guy is so good.

  • @kprofscrts The NG guy does a good job playing it serious too. Makes it that much funnier.

  • Hysterical!

    : )

  • this is fuckin great

  • who put this apocalypse in my stonehenge

  • Dunker, how you doing?

  • This guys A freaking nut!

  • "I read that book "Catcher in the Rye" would that count?" LOL

  • I believe everything I see and hear on youtube.

  • I would say, how ya doing? lmao

  • Guest is awesome but the interviewer was good too at being 'legitimate' and not laughing. especially at 1:11. Long, dramatic pause hahaha

  • DUNCAH!!!

  • I watch all 5 parts once a week. I still get tears in my eyes laughing after months. My wife is even starting to get it.

  • Go Dunk !!!

  • There is a pyramid or an artificial mound of earth near buy! I think it has something to do with the egyptians..even beer came from egypt. British wont consider it simply becoz of pride, even when the Egyptian Pyramid and Stone henge where constructed nearly at t he same time.

  • If Nig says a cat named Duncan built Stonehenge than so fucking be it. When will people start listening to him?

  • wow, what kind of a retard are you...?

  • Wow, you really are out of touch aren't you? And racist too, seemingly. It's a an American guy playing and British guy. The whole concept was created by American writers. IT'S A JOKE.

  • OMG you are the retard ... he's from a famous comedy called spinal tap ... he's not serious -.-

  • Spinal tap is an American movie.

  • @HomoGnosticus It's American you fucking clown.

  • Wow, these guys aren't even british you moron. They're American pretending to be Brits.

  • Wow. Clueless. And you're racist too it would seem from your derogatory comments towards the British. It's an American guy playing a British guy, the whole concept was invented by American COMEDY writers. IT'S A JOKE. By the way, I wouldn't call the British retards when you are quite obviously dim witted yourself; your grammar and punctuation leave a lot to be desired. Do your research before mouthing off about something you have never heard of before, then people won't think you're an idiot.

  • @TheMoodyGuru Chris Guest who plays Tufnell is Half British/ half American. he is a Lord over here! Top comment though. I've just realised it was a year ago you put it. Nothing like keeping up with the times!

  • @TheMoodyGuru the english are not a race. they are homosexuals.

  • WOW,You are SO full Of Shit.

  • whoa.....he got old

    lol

  • and so will you ..if you're lucky

  • Wasn't the Drummer a member of Bohemian Grove?

  • You're thinking of Harry Shearer who played the bass player, Derek Smalls. He has claimed to have been invited to Bohemian Grove once.

  • one man.

  • the interview does a great job at not laughing yet still playing into guest's humor

  • Christopher Guest is a fucking genius. AND WHAT THE HELL IS HE CONSTANTLY CHEWING ON???

  • Gum, I would imagine, Duncan! :)

  • chewing gum probably mate

  • "I'd say how you doin?"

    lmfao

  • Duncan was his name LOLOLOLOL

  • One man.. Very strong

  • I read that book too!!

  • It's not a fact southparkfan, he actually is that old, take a look at other recent videos with him. Hilarious.

  • He's probably supposed to look really old, because I know for a fact Christopher Guest doesn't really look that old.

  • one man

  • Well I got myself a drill..... and... built it.

  • I'm crying! Dunker LMFAO

  • lmfao hahahaha

  • g'day bruce!

  • Rock and Fucking roll

  • Catcher in the Rye..... (Oh geez I can't stop laughing)

  • yyyyyeah

I didnt think they were still around, this makes me happy (:

  • they didn't have last names then.

  • He sounds like the Geico Gecko haha

  • If anything, the Geico Gecko sounds like HIM...

  • i never even thought about it, i checked it out and saw that a man named Jake Wood does the Gecko's voice whereas Christopher Guest does Nigel Tufnel

  • Duncan, "how did you build stonehendge"?

  • "'Duncan' was his name... they didn't have last names, then..." (ahahahahahahaha awesome!!!)

  • i got my drill... and i built it

  • That pregnant pause at 1:10 is hysterical. Sooooooooo dry.

I wouldn't be very much surprized if someone from Spain....

  • LOL! Duncan....No....Dunca......

  • id say how you doin lol

  • Is the interviewer the same guy that played the dog show color analyst in Best In Show?

  • Yes,it is...He's a regular in the Christopher Guest flicks(Best In Show,A Mighty Wind)

  • @bleedingicon yes he was. How much weight do you think I can bench press? If you put these dogs on a football team which would be the tight end and which would be the receiver? Which one can run the fastest the longest?

Am I mistaken or does that guy have two left feet?

There's a pet store down the stairs?

What are you a wizard, a genius. Thanks a lot you stupid hotel manager.

    You must be proud, Mary.

  • his name was Duncan lol

  • I'm always concerned that a video like this will somehow tarnish the Spinal Tap legacy.... like when a good TV show runs just a few seasons too long. But man... Guest really holds up, and this whole series is REALLY hilarious.

  • I'll do you one better, Guest is a genius!

  • i got myself a drwill and i built it

  • Brilliant!

  • dude is a fuckin crack head

  • idiot....

  • You actually think Nigel Tufnel is a real person?

That's what I call Brilliant comedy.

  • NO i thougth he was an hologram!!! 4 fuck's sake

  • He's a comedian, you cock. You've just made yourself look like a complete clown.

  • Comment removed

  • HUN!! do you know a thing called sarcasm?

  • Sarcasm will not save you from the judgment you have just brought on upon yourself!

  • lol who ever thought this was a real band anyways...

  • Spinal Tap thought so.

  • I watched the movie with my 30 year old daughter and she kept asking me if they were a real band or not. I said they wrote all the songs and are actually playing them. Does that make them a real band??

She says, well yeah, but they aren't a real band though, right?

We went back and forth on this for ten minutes.

  • i still like they're songs.. but are they a real band lol!! they dont go on tour right... i dunno anymore..

  • their

  • The whole concept was initially a simple spoof of the genre of rock bands. Then after it took off, they decided to go on a tour, then they became what they were lampooning. The story continues.

  • I can picture that conversation. Sounds like my family. That's awesome.
