let me start by saying i love mustangs. when i say that i mean cobra's and gt500s not v6s or gt's except the 2011 gt's cuz they are nasty. i like foxbodys also of course. i like the 5.0. but i love the modular motor.i do agree it is cheaper and easier to build and tune to be fast. but it is not impossible to tune a modular motor, infact you can control alot more in the tune with a modular. the 5.0 is a great motor but the modular 4.6 4v and 5.4 4v's are far superior. its just a matter of money.

You can't compare a vette and a mustang, there is a differance between a pony/muscle car and a sports car, if you wanna compare a corvette to a ford, compare it to the ford gt. and for the record... corvettes have sucked ass since the mid 70's. they no longer have any soul put into them and are just a screaming clusterfuck of plastic and metal. that being said... I wouldn't mind having a 63 stingray.
It's better for performance to put plastic than to make an all metal body. Especially since today's cars seem to be getting heavier. The Corvette, with the exception of the ZO6, is heavy as it is already for a 2 seater. Not just Corvettes...certain Lambos, Ferraris. Porsche might be one of the few that are light, along with Lotus.
those cars are so expensive.Look what did.I bought a 2006 mustang GT with 3,200 miles ,it was garaged kept for 3 yrs. showroom cond. for $18,500, put complete exhaust system on it,Edelbrock stage1 supercharger putting 470 RWHP and 566 to motor all totaling to a nice price of around $28,500 and Ive got a high 11 second car.Just look around and build your own pony car like I did for a hell of alot less.The best thing with the Edelbrock is I can always add more power with different blower pulley.

True, but the Corvette is in a different class than the GT500. More in competition with Ferraris and Porsches, other 2 seated sports cars. Probably cost more with all those materials. The Camaro is more the GT500's rival.
The new 5.0L will have 412 hp. But that is still good considering it making over 80 hp per liter with a 7000 rpm redline. Unheard of in a domestic V8. Would be nice if it did make 425 huh? The other companies needing over a liter more to make the same power. Seems like the Ford engineers have been drinking Saki with the Japanese on weekends.
The GT500 can't handle the 4300lb 4 door luxury sedan CTSV. So how in the hell can it handle a lighter Z28 with the same engine?

I think they Finally Killed the Mustang Body Style in 2010. Butt Ugly in '05-'07, and '07-'09 Just beautiful and then they had to Kill it right after. But it is Better than the 2010 Camaro's. HAHA sooo Sad.

Do what I did,I bought a 2006 GT with 3,482 miles on it,garaged kept,mint condition for $ 18,000,I put a edelbrock supercharger on it with cams and exhaust and now im 520 HP and only totaled my expenses to $26,000 not bad for a used car and i got as much HP as a GT500 for half the cost.

I have an '08 GT 500 and it's a fun ride. Where can you get 505 hp for $45k. It isn't perfect but it hauls ass and turns heads. It's my 3rd Shelby (1966 / 1969) and they do better than most of my car investments. Some day it will become a Super Snake:-)

The KR was price for about 80k+ and when I visited Ford dealership they want 107k+ for it. So basically the 2010 gt500 convertible will probably sell for close to 70k-80k+. I call the Ford dealership but they don't have a clue. The guy on the phone say that they will only get one or two a year. So basically it's going to be very expensive. How can u name something King of the Road but it performs like crap? All this thing does is shredded tires nothing else.
this isnt the same car as the KR, this only adds the cold air and other engine tweaks. The KR had race track brakes, and chassis upgrades, this one doesnt. Still, i bet there are quite a few pissed off KR owners, that paid a 100k plus premium for a KR, and then the next year, the shelby GT 500 makes the same power. Still, the KR is a collectible, and it handles better then this car. I guess thats what KR owners are using to justify their purchase.

I have had 2 BMW's in the last 8 years and they drive fantastic but have been nothing but trouble. Superior quality? I don't think so. Try valve guides completely worn out in my BMW V8 after 120k miles. That's crap! Its a 1 owner car that has never missed a service. I am so proud of the big puff of blue smoke from my high quality European car on start up every morning. My next performance car will be American.

So pretty, now that my '04 Terminator is a track car (for gods sake, NOT A DRAG CAR LOL, CIRCUIT CAR). I have my look on the 2010 GT, with the track package is fairly nice, also looking at the top 5 fastest hatches in the world, the Ford Focus ST, not to be confused with the SVT model.
Sold my Civic Type R when I drove the Focus ST, omfg, incredible how bad the ST Focus makes import hatches look, too bad it's a very rare and low production car, mostly sold in UK and Germany.

True, but the Corvette is in a different class than the GT500. More in competition with Ferraris and Porsches, other 2 seated sports cars. Probably cost more with all those materials. The Camaro is more the GT500's rival.

The new 5.0L will have 412 hp. But that is still good considering it making over 80 hp per liter with a 7000 rpm redline. Unheard of in a domestic V8. Would be nice if it did make 425 huh? The other companies needing over a liter more to make the same power. Seems like the Ford engineers have been drinking Saki with the Japanese on weekends.

Do what I did,I bought a 2006 GT with 3,482 miles on it,garaged kept,mint condition for $ 18,000,I put a edelbrock supercharger on it with cams and exhaust and now im 520 HP and only totaled my expenses to $26,000 not bad for a used car and i got as much HP as a GT500 for half the cost.

i think ford is the best company out there. i have a 1981 f250 that still runs strong every chevy or dodge i have seen that age and older that is in my trucks shape runs like shit. and ford got them selves on there own feet. for was smart dodge and chevy made 2500 and 3500s with gas moters for did there f250 and f350 with diesels, ford is better and smarter, people just dont want to admit it. and that car is strong to withstand a burn out in revurse with out dropping the drive line, grate work!!

I have an '08 GT 500 and it's a fun ride. Where can you get 505 hp for $45k. It isn't perfect but it hauls ass and turns heads. It's my 3rd Shelby (1966 / 1969) and they do better than most of my car investments. Some day it will become a Super Snake:-)

The KR was price for about 80k+ and when I visited Ford dealership they want 107k+ for it. So basically the 2010 gt500 convertible will probably sell for close to 70k-80k+. I call the Ford dealership but they don't have a clue. The guy on the phone say that they will only get one or two a year. So basically it's going to be very expensive. How can u name something King of the Road but it performs like crap? All this thing does is shredded tires nothing else.

this isnt the same car as the KR, this only adds the cold air and other engine tweaks. The KR had race track brakes, and chassis upgrades, this one doesnt. Still, i bet there are quite a few pissed off KR owners, that paid a 100k plus premium for a KR, and then the next year, the shelby GT 500 makes the same power. Still, the KR is a collectible, and it handles better then this car. I guess thats what KR owners are using to justify their purchase.

me too, but i suggest you go take a test drive in a BMW or Porsche....there truly is a noticeable difference in quality and overall performance...american companies can certainly build something comaprable in quality to a German car but they choose not to...probably to keep prices low and attract a wider customer base...sorry to say but german/european cars are way better than american but of course you pay a lot more for it

I have had 2 BMW's in the last 8 years and they drive fantastic but have been nothing but trouble. Superior quality? I don't think so. Try valve guides completely worn out in my BMW V8 after 120k miles. That's crap! Its a 1 owner car that has never missed a service. I am so proud of the big puff of blue smoke from my high quality European car on start up every morning. My next performance car will be American.

Ive known several porsche owners, that hated their cars, and when i went to get a bmw 750, the people i knew that owned them told me not to get them. Pieces of junk. Yes, america can build great cars, but america's public wants different then germans. Americans are cheap, we want to make the most money, and spend the least amount. So ford, chevy, and dodge give us what we want. then we get mad when they price their FORD GT at 100k+ when its well worth it.

So pretty, now that my '04 Terminator is a track car (for gods sake, NOT A DRAG CAR LOL, CIRCUIT CAR). I have my look on the 2010 GT, with the track package is fairly nice, also looking at the top 5 fastest hatches in the world, the Ford Focus ST, not to be confused with the SVT model.
Sold my Civic Type R when I drove the Focus ST, omfg, incredible how bad the ST Focus makes import hatches look, too bad it's a very rare and low production car, mostly sold in UK and Germany.
