It was Walter Cronkite's trip there & subsequent remarks on TV that spelled the beginning of the end. Not to mention every night at the "supper table" hearing & (seeing) the American body count (N.Vietnamese & Viet Cong) also. Public opinion changed because of TV 's reports & death seen daily/nightly. So yes, absolute fact that TV stopped it. Today's media, well, "Clueless" ???

It is actually right that Macca should be singing Lennon songs, after all, he participated in their creation when they were developed by the Beatles. Also, he gave many of his best bass lines to the other Beatles for their songs.
