HP IS SHIT. Products are unreliable and their customer service is a disgrace too. My latest 'All In One' has only had little use but because its warranty period has expired I'd have to pay a packet to get it repaired. Every HP printer I've had has been problematic, unike the Epson that I once borrowed from a family member. HP's colour profiles are all wrong too, and when I complained they couldn't care less. I had to borrow some pricey software to make my own colour profile. No more HP for me!

@reyesdeltwist1960 the newer version of this printer came out its called the p1102w. this one is wireless so you can connect multiple pc/macs to it. It uses a different cartridge though. i have both. the one above he talks of, its cartridge runs for $55, but i buy compatible which is about $15-20 and prints 1500 pgs. and has pretty much the same quality.

I bought this printer. I like it for what it does: printing lots of articles at a fast speed using one cartridge. It costs $72.99 for a new cartridge and $55.99 for a remanufactured one.

It does not print photos well in monochrome. Even for a black and white photo, you need a color printer.

It's been replaced with a wireless model: P1102w.

u need to update and install the required stuffs on vista to make it stable, or either ur computer is missing the printer driver. or make it easy, install xp on ur pc

I don't know all the diff, but what i do know, is that the p1005 use the 35-A toner Cart... and the p1006 use the 36-A toner cart, and also the 35-A toner cartdrige...

Yes you must remove every orange thing form the printer before you use it :)
