This is very interesting and different.I love it and I am planning on ordering moulds this weekend, but i have a question. Can any type of acrylic be used or no? And how long does this usually last? Can these moulds be lifted off or the have to stay on once you press them onto the nail?
@1992sweetie Hi, yes pretty much any brand of acrylic can be used. Would advise a faster setting range as the slow set sculpting acrylics are more difficult to use with the moulds :-) Everyone is different but we would say average is 2-3 weeks but most can go longer 3-4-5 weeks before an in-fill or new set is needed. No the moulds stay on, they become part of the finished nail extension and protect the acrylic while the client is wearing them :-) If you have anymore questions just email :-)
@6927920 Hi, they may look the same but actually Inverted Moulds are nothing like dual system forms :-) the only aspect which is similar is that you sculpt the acrylic down into them before applying to the natural nail. Inverted Moulds (or IM's) are much much thinner, made from different stuff that is designed to bond with the acrylic not reject it like dual system forms and so they are not removed from the finished nail in fact they become part of it protecting the clients investment :-)
@sexyladyakb Hi, actually the whole nail is made from acrylic and it's bonded to the nail plate using pink acrylic. No glue is used at all :-) but it's a common misconception that acrylic damages nails. The real problem comes from bad nail techs blending in glued on tips and thinning the nail plate. HTH :-)
@spiotticd lol really? Well a normal plastic nail tip is designed to be glued onto the free edge of the natural nail to extend it. This allows the tech to have something to sculpt on top of, build an apex and cover the nail bed in either an acrylic or UV gel. So a tip sits underneath. The Inverted Moulds are different, 1st you do all the acrylic work down into the mould not on the nail, 2nd they cover the entire nail, & 3rd they sit on top of the acrylic protecting it. HTH's :-)
@InvertedNailSystems Yes really. They DO look like nail tips from this video but that's because you don't show how the moulds work. I pieced that information together from your other videos.
@spiotticd lol but they are nothing like nail tips :-) Trust me if you held a tip in one hand and a mould in the other you would instantly see the difference. This particular video is demonstrating one aspect of using IM's, we have 50 videos with around half of them showing each stage of application. We don't show the entire process in each video because people get bored with seeing the same thing over and over lol so we just concentrate on the interesting stuff. But thanks for your comments!
@gwenalicious87 It's not that bad actually, we took our time for the video, in reality you would be working on 2-3 nails at the same time, putting the acrylic in first and then chucking in the spangles and lazer lights. Of course clients would have the same colour for a full set, we were just showing some variations for the video :-) But really glad you liked it and we always appreciate comments :-))
@shayshaybaby617 Hi it stands for Liquid and Powder acrylics. The nail tech dips her sculpting brush into the acrylic liquid and then carefully draws it across the top of her powder. As soon as she does this a 'bead' of L&P collects on the tip of the brush. She now has about 20-30 seconds to sculpt with it before it hardens. HTH's :-)
Hi!! Love these!! I love oval n rounded nails, so can you shape them to any shape you want? It seems like the shape depends on where and how you put the L&P into the mould. Is that right? =)
@KoKozDryEyeZ Hi, thanks for your nice comments and question. No it doesn't really matter where you put the L&P in the mould because when you're done all you do is just use a large pair of nail clippers to cut them to length. If you want oval or a round shape then just do 2 more small cuts with the clipper on the edges to get rid of the sharp corners and then use your acrylic file to get your smooth round ./ oval shape :-) dead easy lol
@ingie29 Hi Ingie. This is a very common problem for beginners and simple to solve :-) you are doing 1 of 2 things (or maybe a little of both) 1) Not putting enough Pink acrylic into the IM 2) Pressing too hard on application and forcing too much pink out from under the IM. The result of both of these situations is not enough pink acrylic holding the IM to the nail plate, result it lifts. So try using a little more pink L&P and don't press too hard. Takes practice but this is the cause :-)
Hi, you have made great video's.... I must have watch them over a thousand times! :) I have a question: how do you know where to make the smile line? Is there any trick to know where to place it??
@KimsKie79 Hi thanks for your nice comments. It's just practice, some people use a thin tip marker pen on the outside of the IM to show where the natural nail smile is so when they turn the mould upside down and sculpt inside they can see where the smile goes. Then when they are done they just wipe off the ink with a little cotton wool soaked in prep. After a while you don't even need to do this. HTH's
@noonelikeliz Hi thanks for the nice comment :-) Actually these are Inverted Moulds :-) people mix them up with Dual System Forms all the time, but they're not the same, in fact they are very different. Obviously they share the 'Inverted' application method, but that's about it :-) They are a plastic based product, Hope that helps.
Where do you buy the products needed to achieve this look? Once you have the IM and L&Ps, can you simply use any craftstore glitters to sparkles to add to your design? What sort of brushes do you use and how do you keep them clean? Also, what is the expected wear time, 2-3 weeks or so? I'm absolutely fascinated with how unique these nails can become.
@PrincessHollyBerry15 You can get the IM's from our website (link on our channel) with online video training. Acrylics you will need to source from your own country as we can't send ours overseas. Yeah pretty much any craftstore glitter will do, just make sure it's ultra fine glitter dust, some glitters are too big and chunky. We use a Round #8 or #6 sable sculpting brush. Clean the brsh as you use it. Never let acrylic harden in bristles! Yeah 2-3 weeks is average most go longer :-)
@MsSnapcrackle45 Stands for Liquid & Powder acrylics. These are the products we use to create the nail extension. The nail tech will dip the sculpting brush into the acrylic liquid (also known as Monomer) then draw the brush across the acrylic powder (also known as Polymer) the result is a 'Mixed' L&P acrylic that the tech can sculpt with. It takes about 20-30 seconds for the acrylic to harden into a solid, so the tech has to be quick, so the trick is to keep adding small amounts :-) HTH's
@TammyEMD Hi, no you can embed them. You should take a look at our TEGISA jewel video. In that one we are embedding real diamonds, Ruby's and Sapphires. You would use the same process if you were using rhinestones. :-)
@bobbob701 Hi, the finished nail extension is actually the same as a full acrylic sculptured nail, so the process of doing a fill is the same. The IM is very thin so you are able to buff through it and blend it down. Then remove any loose of lifted acrylic, re-prep the area and apply the fill, then just buff out etc.
@Nailfreak1975 Hi, if you are having a problem with your acrylics going yellow the IM will not stop this. Our suggestion is to try a different range of acrylics that have stronger UV light absorbers in them. HTH's
@TheVictoriarocks123 check our YouTube channel, links to our 2 websites, are there The Nail Artist for acrylics and nail art items. The easynail site for Inverted Moulds and the online training. HTH's
@samiii22x Hi, you can use pretty much any brand of acrylic with Inverted Moulds. We supply our own range of acrylics for techs in the UK and Ireland, available from 'TheNailArtist' website.
For the RockStar nails we mix different coloured nail art glitters into Clear acrylic powder and then matched them to the nail. Our salon clients still love them even after 2 years :-)
You can buy IM's directly off our website and get free video training, just go to our YT Channel for the link. HTH's
@TheTijana12 hi, it stays on the nail, IM's are very thin, but they are also strong, so they give great protection to the acrylic and artwork underneath :-)
Hi, if you are embedding nail art items like the RockStar Spangles in this video, then you do the decoration before. If you want to use nail polish, airbrushing, or something like the Konad stamp, then you would do these after once the nail extension has been applied.
wow i think my nail place has it all wrong they put the nails on and do all the sanding and stuff like then they paint on the nail polish this was looks cooler
@InvertedNailSystems haha that's actually quite funny because i live in middlewich :) ive never seen anyone doing nails like this they're soo cool, i might actually come to your salon before my prom :)
Hi, it's all about practice, but if you want to learn then just go to our website, you can purchase IM's off the site and you get full access to our online training videos. :-)
Hi, you can only use Liquid and Powder Acrylics, UV gel doesn't work. In our opinion L&P makes a better nail extension.
Any brand of acrylic will do, we have techs using Youngs, Creative, EZflow and NSI so this makes it easier :-)
You will also need the Inverted Moulds (these area available off our website, the link is in the description to this video or on our YouTube channel. And the RockStar Spangles and glitters you can get from our other site, The Nail Artist link on our YT channel :-)
Hi, L&P is Liquid and Powder acrylic yes, it's not actually a glue like nail glue that's Ethyl Cyanoacrylate, but we do use the L&P as a bonding agent to the natural, its much better and far stronger than glue. HTH's
Yes, we use an ultra fine glitter dust and mix it with clear acrylic powder in a 60:40 to a 50:50 ratio. This gives us a very sold looking glitter and then we 'back' the design in just clear acrylic to give the nail strength. Hope that helps. :-)
Hi. The 'Inverted' way of doing the nail is the same, but the actual products themselves and the techniques to use them are different. The biggest one is that Inverted Moulds actually become part of the finished extension. That super smooth glossy finish is not topcoat, polish or a UV gel, it's the Inverted Mould. It stays on for the life of the nail and actually protects the acrylic and embedded nail art underneath. Dual nails are removed and do not protect the clients nails. HTH's :-)
Hi, thanks for your comment :-) you can buy directly of our website, you also get full access to our online training website with over 3hrs of videos and lots of text guides and pictures, when you buy the evaluation pack. We will send you the direct link via YT message :-)
Hi, yes the mould stays on the nail. That smooth glossy finish is not a UV gel topcoat or polish, it's the Inverted Mould. It bonds with the acrylic while it hardens and can not be removed. The IM (Inverted Mould) then acts like a tough exterior shell giving great levels of protection and strength to the nail and any embedded nail art designs. HTH's
L&P stands for Liquid and Powder acrylics. The tech will dip her brush into the acrylic liquid and then carefully 'draw' the tip over the powder. The powder collects on the tip of the brush and mixes with the liquid creating a 'Bead' of L&P (Liquid and Powder acrylic) the tech can now sculpt the design into the Inverted Mould. There are hundreds of different brands available, so are supplied by nail companies (like us) and others are available from beauty wholesalers. HTH's
Hola, usted puede comprar los moldes de nuestro sitio web. Vaya a nuestro canal del youtube para el lazo. Sí es acrilico que utilizamos para hacer los clavos.
Yes you can. Basically if you can sculpt it then you can do ANYTHING in an Inverted Mould. Check your youtube messages, we've sent you a link to a picture of a rainbow nail that was done a few years ago by one of our techs.
Hi, just go to our main website, follow the ENUK link, you will then see the NEW FOR 2009 link with the free training. This will take you to the information and payment page. We will also send you the direct link by YouTube message. HTH's :-)
Hi, if you look at the annotation on the video above and click on it, it will take you to 'The Nail Artist' youtube page, on that page there is a direct link to 'The Nail Artist' website, you can buy the RockStar Spangles there. I've also sent the full URL to you as message. Can't post URL's on video comments, youtube don;t allow it. :-)
That's EXACTLY what we do! Just make sure you use ultra fine glitter dust. Not kids glitter the bits are too big. For use with Inverted Moulds we would recommend a 60:40 ratio of acrylic powder to glitter (60% powder, 40% glitter) :-)
Hi, the coloured acrylic you can buy from nail supply companies or from beauty suppliers like Sally's. The glitter acrylics are easy, just use Ultra Fine Glitter Dust and mix it with Clear acrylic powder. For IM's (Inverted Moulds) we use a 60:40 ratio, 60% acrylic powder to 40% glitter. HTH's
Hi, really depends on the clients natural nail growth. Average is 2 weeks, but we get lots of clients going 4+ weeks. Nail biters grow very fast so they will some type of maintenance after a week. Strength wise they are full acrylic nails with the IM acting as a tough exterior shell so again they can last longer than regular acrylics. HTH's
#1 OK the IM act's like a glossy topcoat but give 10 times the protection, but if you want to apply polish you can, just lightly buff the IM to etch the surface and remove the gloss, then apply polish as normal, of course for extra protection a top coat for the polish would be better.
#2 Too many to list here, but the biggest one is that IM's stay on the nail and become part of the finished extension and DSF's don't.
#3 All packages we send are sent with tracking numbers.
SO i keep seeing u state that IMs r exclusive to L&P but what EXACTLY is an IM and how is it exclusive? how did u apply that clear nail on the acrylic?? a lil lost & confused... but excellent work!!!!
Hi, the IM (Inverted Mould) is the clear form you see in the video. The tech uses it to to cradle the acrylic so she can sculpt the nail art design. IM's can only be used with liquid and powder acrylics (L&P), lots of techs use UV gel to make nail extensions instead of L&P, but Inverted Moulds don't work with gel. That's why we say they are exclusive to L&P. To see more of the application and how IM's are used take a look at some of our other videos, especially our 'Detailed Explanation' HTH
thank you, i have the moulds, but i would like to know, why doesn't the acrylic get until th edges of the fake nail? does it have to be bigger than the nail for it to fill it?
Hi, that sounds like a question for one of our senior techs to answer, best thing to do is login to the training site and go to the 'Got a Question' link on the homepage, complete the form with as much detail about what you are doing and your problem and a mentor technician will get back to you with help and advice. HTH's :-)
Hi, who said that? If used correctly they actually give better strength and durability to the nail extension. But if the tech is using low grade acrylics and does not prep properly then problems will arise. Good prep on the natural nail, using a good range of acrylics and the correct training with Inverted Moulds will produce an excellent nail extension that will last very well. In fact in our salon we give a 2 week guarantee on ALL full sets. Break a nail we fix it for free.
This is very interesting and different.I love it and I am planning on ordering moulds this weekend, but i have a question. Can any type of acrylic be used or no? And how long does this usually last? Can these moulds be lifted off or the have to stay on once you press them onto the nail?

I wanted know what do u use Acrylic or gel uv? And can u tell me where u buy everythink needful for do inverted rockstars
FR161 2 years ago
Hi, you can only use Liquid and Powder Acrylics, UV gel doesn't work. In our opinion L&P makes a better nail extension.
Any brand of acrylic will do, we have techs using Youngs, Creative, EZflow and NSI so this makes it easier :-)
You will also need the Inverted Moulds (these area available off our website, the link is in the description to this video or on our YouTube channel. And the RockStar Spangles and glitters you can get from our other site, The Nail Artist link on our YT channel :-)

L&P is acrylic right?
xlyndellex 2 years ago
its the type of glue shes using
AquariusLovers 2 years ago
Hi, L&P is Liquid and Powder acrylic yes, it's not actually a glue like nail glue that's Ethyl Cyanoacrylate, but we do use the L&P as a bonding agent to the natural, its much better and far stronger than glue. HTH's

how do you get the glitter do you just mix loose glitter with abit of acrylic?
thankyou xxxx :)
cazz147 2 years ago
Yes, we use an ultra fine glitter dust and mix it with clear acrylic powder in a 60:40 to a 50:50 ratio. This gives us a very sold looking glitter and then we 'back' the design in just clear acrylic to give the nail strength. Hope that helps. :-)
InvertedNailSystems 2 years ago
are these the same as dual nail system?x
if not whats the difference
cazz147 2 years ago

InvertedNailSystems 2 years ago
so the mold is not a mold that is removed...it stays on?
hipretty 2 years ago
Hi, yes the mould stays on the nail. That smooth glossy finish is not a UV gel topcoat or polish, it's the Inverted Mould. It bonds with the acrylic while it hardens and can not be removed. The IM (Inverted Mould) then acts like a tough exterior shell giving great levels of protection and strength to the nail and any embedded nail art designs. HTH's

whats an L&p???where can i find it?
vengaveng 2 years ago
L&P stands for Liquid and Powder acrylics. The tech will dip her brush into the acrylic liquid and then carefully 'draw' the tip over the powder. The powder collects on the tip of the brush and mixes with the liquid creating a 'Bead' of L&P (Liquid and Powder acrylic) the tech can now sculpt the design into the Inverted Mould. There are hundreds of different brands available, so are supplied by nail companies (like us) and others are available from beauty wholesalers. HTH's

Yes you can. Basically if you can sculpt it then you can do ANYTHING in an Inverted Mould. Check your youtube messages, we've sent you a link to a picture of a rainbow nail that was done a few years ago by one of our techs.

InvertedNailSystems 2 years ago
heya, can you mix glitter with the clear l&p to create a glitter acrylic powder?
many thanks x
JadeyBabbi 2 years ago
That's EXACTLY what we do! Just make sure you use ultra fine glitter dust. Not kids glitter the bits are too big. For use with Inverted Moulds we would recommend a 60:40 ratio of acrylic powder to glitter (60% powder, 40% glitter) :-)

where do u get the colored and glitter acrylic??? do u have to make it????
shopaholic5701 2 years ago
Hi, the coloured acrylic you can buy from nail supply companies or from beauty suppliers like Sally's. The glitter acrylics are easy, just use Ultra Fine Glitter Dust and mix it with Clear acrylic powder. For IM's (Inverted Moulds) we use a 60:40 ratio, 60% acrylic powder to 40% glitter. HTH's

w/ the ims how long does the nails last?
aZnBaBi3804 2 years ago
Hi, really depends on the clients natural nail growth. Average is 2 weeks, but we get lots of clients going 4+ weeks. Nail biters grow very fast so they will some type of maintenance after a week. Strength wise they are full acrylic nails with the IM acting as a tough exterior shell so again they can last longer than regular acrylics. HTH's

Hi. I love your videos. But I have three quick questions.
#1. Does this nail only need a top coat, primer, or bottom coat only if you paint on it with polish, or should you apply these things anyway?
#2. What is the difference between this system and the dual form system (besides the creative videos)?
#3. I looked at the site and am interested in purchasing. Do you provide a tracking number?
Thanks :)
moviegyrl 2 years ago
Hi again!

SO i keep seeing u state that IMs r exclusive to L&P but what EXACTLY is an IM and how is it exclusive? how did u apply that clear nail on the acrylic?? a lil lost & confused... but excellent work!!!!
italiansexbot 2 years ago
Hi, the IM (Inverted Mould) is the clear form you see in the video. The tech uses it to to cradle the acrylic so she can sculpt the nail art design. IM's can only be used with liquid and powder acrylics (L&P), lots of techs use UV gel to make nail extensions instead of L&P, but Inverted Moulds don't work with gel. That's why we say they are exclusive to L&P. To see more of the application and how IM's are used take a look at some of our other videos, especially our 'Detailed Explanation' HTH

thank you, i have the moulds, but i would like to know, why doesn't the acrylic get until th edges of the fake nail? does it have to be bigger than the nail for it to fill it?
sebaschaefer 2 years ago
Hi, that sounds like a question for one of our senior techs to answer, best thing to do is login to the training site and go to the 'Got a Question' link on the homepage, complete the form with as much detail about what you are doing and your problem and a mentor technician will get back to you with help and advice. HTH's :-)
InvertedNailSystems 2 years ago
they say that by using the moulds, nails don't last as long as the normal procedure, is that truE?
sebaschaefer 2 years ago
Hi, who said that? If used correctly they actually give better strength and durability to the nail extension. But if the tech is using low grade acrylics and does not prep properly then problems will arise. Good prep on the natural nail, using a good range of acrylics and the correct training with Inverted Moulds will produce an excellent nail extension that will last very well. In fact in our salon we give a 2 week guarantee on ALL full sets. Break a nail we fix it for free.
