modded c64 with built-in theremin and optical control

This the 8580 SID chip?  I think the 6581 cant do the feedback mod.... correct me if this IS in fact the 6581.

yep, only the sid chip. the theremin like sound is basically a feedback coming from sid chip's out thru sid chip's in. (google "feedback mod")
