to be completely honest i love a7x and always will no matter what but my opinion is the Jimmy left this song as a suicide note. three days after he wrote and recorded the song was when he died. Synyster somewhat states in Revolver magazine in an interview that Jimmy could have possibly lost control and possibly his mind. Syn acknowledged that his death could have all been planned but that no one noticed/believed him so therefore no one tried to stop him.

quite powerful, isn't it...? but this clear of a version wasn't recorded yet. apparently (So I've heard) while going through jimmys things after he died, they found a recording of the song and thats why the revs voice, at some parts are more clear than others. it wasn't recorded professionally, it was just done really quickly, so, they took what they could of the original recording, cleaned it up, added Matts voice to clear it up a tiny bit, and put it on the album. beautiful....

I went in my basement and played this on my drums a few minutes ago. Although I've grown apart from Avenged Sevenfold, it still makes me very sad. But however unfortunate, it's what he wanted.

Fiction, Nightmare, and So Far Away are the best songs on the CD in my opinion, but Fiction has that stronger feel to it. Such a great track. Your so awesome Jimmy, you sorely missed. RIP

people need to stop saying that this he knew he was going to die. it was an accident. yes, he joked that he wasn't going to live past 30, but he couldn't have really known. He didn't know he was gonna die and it definetely wasnt suicide.

Synyster somewhat states in Revolver magazine in an interview that Jimmy could have possibly lost control and possibly his mind. Syn acknowledged that his death could have all been planned but that no one noticed/believed him so therefore no one tried to stop him.

from what i have seen of the Rev and what his family and friends have said about him he wasnt someone to do something like that. not gunna have a war about it.

quite powerful, isn't it...? but this clear of a version wasn't recorded yet. apparently (So I've heard) while going through jimmys things after he died, they found a recording of the song and thats why the revs voice, at some parts are more clear than others. it wasn't recorded professionally, it was just done really quickly, so, they took what they could of the original recording, cleaned it up, added Matts voice to clear it up a tiny bit, and put it on the album. beautiful....

@schecterscott That part "LET IT BURRRRNNNNN!!" gives me chills everytime I hear it too..I just got the CD 2 days ago and I've already listened to the entire Album like 7 times.. and I've listened to Fiction like 18 times. Fiction, Nightmare, and So Far Away are the best songs on the CD in my opinion, but Fiction has that stronger feel to it. Such a great track. Your so awesome Jimmy, you sorely missed. RIP

Let it BURRRNNNN!!!!!!! I got the biggest spine shiver ive ever had when i first heard that! We're so lucky he recorded that before he died. It's as if he's saying "yeah i know im not here anymore, so i've left this for you." Its like he's singing to us from beyond the grave, thats what makes it so powerful. And yes Jimmy, we will find our own way when youre not with us, but its only because of you that we are able to.

Kind of like his goodbye to the world. No offense to Shadows but I would have loved to hear Jimmy's vocals on the whole thing. Terrible it had to happen to such a great guy.

This song is beautiful. The Rev was a genious musician. All the things he compose are for from good. There are so many killers, pedophiles in this world and the good people that deserves to live are the people that die. An unfair world...
The odd thing about this song is that it looks like a suicide letter, the song started out with the tittle "Death" but then they changed it. He finished composing "Fiction" 3 days before he died. He passed away but he will always stay on our hearts.RIP REV

i know the rev has the higher pitched vocals. but are you sure its him? i totally agree though. its a very powerful and moving song. i thought Brian (Syn) sang the course.
"not that i could, or that i would..." The rev was an inspiration to me to become a musician and the bands dream is also inspirational, let jimmy live on in our hearts
