I have run Ubuntu 9.10 and 10.04 successfully on all my Eee Pcs. Both the desktop and netbook versions. I like both and typically use NBR on smaller screens. I tried the Kubuntu Netbook version in 9.10 and thought it was very pretty but it didn't work too well on my 900 or rather it seemed to be a little buggy. I have not tried the new OS but plan to soon. Currently on my 1000 I am using Linux Mint 8 KDE and it runs pretty flawlessly.
Im a recently "healed" pc user ... so kicked windows out from any pc I have at home and in my company as well.. Mint is so easy and have no idea why no more people are not using it...
thumbs up if you use linux mint :D

I think you'll like the new Kubuntu NBR.

What do you recommend on Netbooks currently? Have you tried the new Ubuntu Netbook Remix and Kubuntu Netbook version?

Depends on what you you need your computer to so. XFCE themes are leaner and therefore, better for computers with small RAM and hard-drives.
Both work well. The standard is a little "prettier" but this one looks good too.

I'm running mint with XFCE for about a year and a half, it's definitely the best distro I've ever used.
Still works like the first day.
Nice.

All the mint flavors run quite well.
Don't know why it hasn't taken over Windows completely.
