  • Got a tormek, but never used it for turning tools, only woodcarving.

i find a very quick hit on an ordinary grindstone and its done.

Sure it gets a much better edge, but 90% of my work requires an extremly fast response.

Using jigs is great, but there is nothing that is as good as experience - if you only use jogs you will never get that.

There is sooo much more to woodturning than turning bowls.

  • find a blacksmith to make and sharpen your tools- hell of allot cheaper!!

  • For these sharpening systems being so loaded with low tech engineering, I don't see why it's so expensive. I'm sure more would sell to make up for the loss of revenue if the price was lowered.

  • why are great tools always expensive :(

  • @7199715

The answer is in the question?

  • @7199715 They're not. You just need to know where to buy your stuff! Or, learn to make your own!

I made copies of all the "Easy Wood Tools" carbide turning tools for less than $20 each. Message me, I'll tell you how!

Or, for a very fair price, I will sell you a set already made. So far, I've had excellent responses from others who bought my tools. And I make more than just the carbide insert tools too.

  • 0:05 - The bowl busted off ~~!!!!

  • @bigkingsha what?

  • Boy you ain't kiddin--$289.99 at Woodcraft. Yikes, can't afford that...

  • I would buy one of these as quick as a flash if they were't so damn expensive!
