  • Lovely. Music and roses. Outstanding. Thank you.

  • What a marvellous rendition by the gorgeous soprano Kathleen Battle! This recording is heavenly beautiful...Andre Previn simply adds more beauty to this masterpiece!

  • Most lovely.... wonderful.... fine presentation... Thank you!

  • @CurzonRoad My pleasure! :-)

  • so nice to hear this sung by such a lovely soprano...she was somewhat of a legend in Cincinnati at UC CCM where she fisrt studied. The perfect version of this piece is sung by Elisabeth Schwarzkopf....but this comes as close as anything I've heard..thank you for posting

  • @guarneriviolinaddict glad you enjoyed it :-)

  • Very beautiful rendition by Battle. She sounds gorgeous as always here. A real Mozart soprano! Thanks a lot for uploading!

  • @Geirrendour Thank you for the comment. She really does sound scrumptuous. I was so shocked when her career came to something of an abrupt end. What a singer! All the best ...

  • That said I am playing this in summer camp next week (violin) - how fortunate to have such a role model (and how totally intimidating to see how it can be done). I don't get to meet the singer till monday - but till then this will be 'in my ears'....

  • @elisedance Thank you very much for your comment and best of luck with your performance ! :)

  • This truly defies characterization. To my humble ear it is not possible to improve on the singing and the violin is supremely sensitive while the orchestra knows its place. Kudos to all for a masterpiece. My only slight suggestion is that the violin could be just a shade louder so that the interplay could be heard better -but that is a production issue.

  • .........my! a voice that speaks of immortality..... what did Mozart think when he came up with the notes of this very beautiful piece.......how lovely Kathleen rendered justice on this song......

  • Thank you very much for your comment :)

  • ...very good job Barbara,congratulations...

    Mozart like thatI love...

  • Merci, Claude !!! :)

  • Battle has the perfect voice for this music: delicate, charming, flexible (with good trills), nearly vibrato-less tone but warm and lovely. I prefer her performance of the aria to those of the young Schwarzkopf, L. Price, Anderson, and Pons (with Bruno Walter). Thanks for sharing.

  • By the way, two historical versions of the aria are those of Melba (not so good) and Kurz (very good).

  • Thank you very much for your informative comments - glad you enjoyed this - all the best -b:)
