@flexin007 ....Like I mentioned, I think there is no other dog as beautiful as a male Akita......male German Shepherd being second IMO. But looks arent everything. I now have what was told to be a Rott/Lab mix......BUT he is brindle w/an Akita build and curled tail. Only about 65 lbs. 2.5 years old. He listens fairly well......until he decides he doesnt want to...which is rare. Makes me think he has Akita in him. Rotts are great dogs. My preferance of the two.

@flexin007 ..........I have owned both. Visually they are both impressive. A male Akita is the most beautiful of all dogs IMO. If I got another of either it would be the Rott. Based on trainablity and Hair. Akita can of course be trained but are less inclined to listen. I could always have my Rotts off leash ie; front door to car, hiking, a bath outside in the driveway......Akita; Never trusted her enough......Rotts do shed a little....Akita's; ALOT!!!....anyway's, just my thoughts. Thats a beautiful akita. I have a big male and he is the best dog i have ever had. I am happy that i had him around other dogs as a puppy because i have met akitas that are very aggressive. and as big and powerful as they are i cant imagine what kind of damage they could do if they wanted.

my two akitas have a rotty buddy aswell, i tried tell my mate let the pupp mingle in with dogs at a young age or there show aggression behaviour to other dogs if not socialized.

Nice video mate. Nice dogs too. I'm going to stop reading the comments that come with these kind of vids though. I despair at the kind of morons that own dogs and the talk of dog fighting disgusts me. Just how insecure, weak minded and mentally tarnished you'd have to be to contemplate watching your dog in a fight I just don't know.

These dogs are PLAYING! That's why I wrote in the description Watch Part 2 of this, which is 2 mins later...and watch the video of them @ the beach together with all the other dogs. STOP TALKING ABOUT DOG FIGHTING!! Stop speculating on who would win, etc. If you fight dogs or are around dog fights, you really have issues and, obviously, lacked some sort of nurturing as a child.

im def. not proud of this bc i hate when dogs fight but just to let yall know who would really win in a fight between these 2..my grandparents stud rottweiler they use for breeding growled at me and my american akita jax beat his ass..i would take an akita over any dog..just sayin..jax has never fought any other dog and my roomates have 3..i also take him to dog parks all the time with no problem but if a dog ever attacks or growls at me its over with..they are not bad dogs just very loyal

i agree! Im a top GSD fan but if we dont get a GSD< we are getting an Akita, ever seen GNG/GDW? its AWESOME, its a Japanese show about this pack of wild dogs (mainly AKITA's) my fav charry (whos a GSD) dies... =( (but he was also old) but anywho, yes, Akitas are great!

It all depends on how they were raised as puppies. Some males are territorial, but others aren't. Some are good as only pets, others thrive in multi-dog homes. It's impossible to generalize.. But people still do it anyway.

@CODMW2FAN25 They are usually territorial by nature. I bred Akitas growing up, and if I brought a dog to them, they generally were OK. However, if a dog (or man) 'wandered' up towards our land then the fight was on.

@cyberwhore01 they are. But the Rottweiler was submitting, my bitch will be fine with dogs if they let her sit on them, if they try to resist things turn ugly very quickly. Its a breed issue, when she was young I took her to puppy classes and socialised her with many dogs, but she got to about ones she started to put her dominance down, if a dogs submits fine, if not there will be trouble.

I did not put this video on here for people to talk about fighting their dogs. THESE DOGS ARE PLAYING...roughly, but playing. (as evidenced by the other videos these same two dogs are in...they obvious get along well). Fighting dogs is insanely cruel, and anyone who does it or stands by as their friends do it is someone I DON'T want watching this video...or owning a dog for that matter.

They are virtually the same weight on average.....a well bred(no backyard breeder) Rott and Akita male are roughly 110-125 lbs and Akitas being a hair taller.....Teeth.........they are the same also.................And they were never bred to "kill"..................they were bred to hunt and hold the, deer, boar, bear etc. till their hunters arrived........so you should do some research yourself..............but i will leave "Idiot" out of it.

I left out the word "bay"....Hold them at bay......but if you know like you think you do, I wouldn't have to say that. My research was done by the 11 Akita books I have owned. And NEVER did they say "kill". And I owned an Akita too......I have owned an Akita and a few Rotts........sure they CAN be 150 , but only a backyard breeder would breed it to be 150......males of both breeds should be 110-125ish........you show one piece of literature that says Akita's should by 150...U cant..Your a Hack!

@niceguy333333 ..........That must have been one mess of a backyard bred Rott.... 135 lbs. is a BIG male. A real Rott person knows that. But Akitas were once used as fighting dogs and Rotts as drovers...not fighters......But it depends on the dog......One of my Rotts of 11.5 years was about 95-100 lbs... I had literally 50+ strange dogs run up to him on the streets and in parks.......there was never a fight... I would not allow it.. Only a scum bag would and would not desorve a dog.Period.

I've owned 3 Akitas. Many other dogs as well. Akitas are by FAR my favorite. Biggest personalities, and undeniably an absolute beast.

I own Akita's to though and they are by far my favorite breed. :) Loyal, Territorial, Smart, Alert, and when it comes down to it, pure killing machines. Mine capture live chickens from the barns nearby, rabbits, small birds, occasionally a cat. :)

@bearmanguy Yes. The first 2 I owned was a male and female when I was a teen. I had 2 younger sisters. They were both great with them. Never a single show of any sort of aggression towards any of us or my parents. The 3rd I owned when I moved out. He was fine with those closer to me, but was very dominating of strangers that came into my home. He never snapped at anyone, but would growl at strangers that tried to walk up and pet him. They would have to wait for him to want to me him on his terms

They're best friends... Do you realize your dogs are fighting for pride, they are not playfighting..

You probably know this, hence why they are on leashes.. You let it go to far and that rotty would sadly end up dead. But the Akita wouldn't act on it, inless it was attacked in the first place, they are pretty calm dogs for the most part, but I still wouldn't fuck with one.
