  • Call the airline about the cat and they will tell you everything you need to know plus some tips about traveling. SMPFilms recently took his cat on a plane so he might have tips

I think Craigslist is the best way to go but be cautious of course with who you let come to your place. Put an ad up for the fridge and bed and things you don't want to get rid of right away, and mention that you need to keep them until close to your moving day, then discuss with the buyer the details of the exact date.

  • make sure he poops b4 you go on the plain and put lots of padding in the carry on that you put him in 'cause more likely than not, he will pee.

  • The I-40 right before you cross from Arizona to New Mexico has the petrified forest and some very weird dinosaur and tepee things at look at as you drive.

Also, advertise your stuff here on youtube but be careful about who you let meet you and make sure you have a man with you.

Sedate the cat. They have stuff for that ask the pharmacist.

  • I would say put the adds up for your bed and fridge soon, and ask if they'd be willing to wait till you're actual moving date.

  • If you have any questions about Pet Travel... call the Airline service you are gonna use.. they will let you know.

  • never sold any furniture, i don'T own a pet and i'm not from the US.

but i can wish you well and good fortune at your new place!

  • It takes very little time to sell things on craigslist. Maybe a week? I sold my bed on craigslist. It was super easy!

Btw Denise, where are you moving?

  • stop at sun studios in memphis tenn.

it's like time travel back to the 1950's.

also when you get to nashville stop at tootsie's orchid lounge. they have locals trying to hit the big time in the country music biz. it's on broadway just off I-40.

    be safe.

  • craigslist is the way to go. if you sell your items on craigslist you can, if you didn't sell to a complete jerk, work out something where they pick it up the day before you move. just ask them if they would pick it up on a certain day. as for your cat, he'll need certain shots before going on the plane.

  • Craigslist is a good place to sell. Depending on prices and the quality of your furniture depends on how fast it will go.

I work at a dog/cat boutique and you can get a bag called a sherpa. They are airline approved and you can take your cat with you on the plane. They run a little pricey but they're totally worth it and you can always try and sell it afterward. Some of them come with wheels and they come in three different sizes. Ask the airline you would be using for dimensions.

  • oh, and by the way, craig's list is the best way to get rid of your stuff. although, if you're trying to time it out right to get rid of your fridge, just be prepared to take a bath on it at a certain point. appliances like that don't move as fast as furniture on that site. an o.b.o. attitude would be best for that one. if you take the cat by plane, i would pad his little cage as full of soft blankets as possible. animals go through some trauma in the air, and are more nervous than people.

  • okay, you kinda confused me a bit. are you going by plane or by car? you mentioned if your cat could go by plane what to do to make him comfy. but then you were talking about driving through i-40. if you're driving, why not just take him with you in the car? oh, also, if you coming through i-40, please let me know if you are going all the way through. would be nice to meet a tuber here in oklahoma. i promise not to fill your trick/treat bag with bacon...

  • 1=EBAY lol

  • Craigslist is good if you want to sell you body

  • I've had it take as little as a few hours to as long as a couple of weeks.

  • i moved with a pet. some airlines let you bring them in the cabin Jetblu counts small pets as a carry on. if you are driving there are natural supplements the vet can advise you on that won't knock your kitty out but will keep them relaxed.

  • you can do an "apartment sale", we have them in my apartment complex all the time. like a yard sale except people come to the apartment (you have friends there for security of course) and you post in the details when the items need to be picked up by or if they can be taken out that day.

  • also you can always supplement your bed with an air mattress, Colemann is a really comfee brand actually and inexpensive.

  • I'm gonna look into the air mattress idea, thanks!

  • Q2. sell it on ebay u choose the closing date for the thing and everytin

  • Post as much as you can asap just to get rid of it. Takes pictures, that will help. As for bed and fridge it depends on what you want to get back money wise. I would put them up week-week and a half with a good price. Nothing right away lower them to get rid of them. Worse comes to worse if you haven't sold them before you move, selling them for cheep will get rid of them.

Cat on plane...ask Mr Safety. He did it a few months ago.

i-40...no clue, but stop by Houston for fun...(not close I know)

  • I have absolutely no idea ...

    but good luck ^_^

  • Put them on craigslist as soon as possible and take good pictures. Most people skip over all items with no pictures

  • You could put adds in the paper :o

  • Hello,Denise,if you must sell it for money,a local advertisement in a paper is best. I think an air mattress would suffice for a day or 2 before leaving. If you have funds, sell the fridge as soon as possible,i think it would be hardest to move, then eat out.

If you do not really need the funds, donate the items to a shelter or Salvation Army. The SA may have free pickup. Humane societies will have ideas for air transport of animals.

  • I've driven cross country (on I-40) several times. A couple of tips:

    1) Russellville, Arkansas has a great burger place called Whattaburger. Not the chain, but the original in the country. Really fun.

    2) Memphis, TN is really great. You will cross the Miss River and see the pyramid.

    3) In Knoxville, TN, don't take the bypass, just go thru the city.

    4) If you are going all the way to New York, take I-81 just past Knoxville. It will take you straight there.

  • Great tips!

  • 3) Don't worry about your cat. They will be fine. Just bring a pillow thing for the plane and an MP3 or something

  • 1. Craigslist the week before you are gonna move.

  • I sold a boat on craigslist and got calls the same day, its great.

the pet will be in quarantine if its out of the country

  • Umm.. I only know the awnser to the third one. You got these special boxes, with bars, and you can endeavour to get your cat in there. She might get nervous on the plane, so you need to put them to sleep for a few hours. Hope I've helped.

    Love your stuff, Denise.

  • I love EBAY. Try it

  • I can't answer any of these questions but you are awesome.

  • 1. you can get it sold in a day or 2.

    2. ebay? lol

  • -i bought my car off craiglsist took one week

Note: When you sell on craigslist make sure you have somebody else with you. There are some creepers. Dont be afraid to ask a male friend to help. Just for your safety.

-Theres myspace and facebook and yahoo classifieds

    - I traveled with my dog. We gave him a tranca laser but thats because he wasnt a good airplane dog. Make sure you bring food and water. Make sure he or she is always under your seat. the attendants get mad if you take them out.

  • 1) If there's a demand for your stuff then it'll sell quickly. And since you're a YT celeb, if you autograph it then it'll sell even quicker :-)

2)Craigslist is the best way of selling bulky stuff fast. Newspapers are so last century

3)drugs your cat up and he/she should be fine on the plane

4)Sights? I got nothing. do you plan on meetup with fans along the way?

Well at least us westcoasters had you and bragging rights for a little while. :-(

  • Wait...where you going? Did I miss something? It's very possible I did.

  • Going back to NY :) It's time. You will be invited to the goodbye party... hope u can make it <3

  • I feel so helpless!! Tho you could stop by my house...that's a fun stop ;)

  • OH AND we drove across 1-40 this summer on my way from California to south carolina! it was a great drive. where are you driving from/to? i'll tell you all the cool stops :)

  • Driving from LA to NY :)

  • wow! you got yourself a long drive. Well there are a few cool things in texas. going east i-40 there is a really cool rest stop/hurricane shelter/picnic area right before you leave texas. it looks like a texas flag and it's got barbiques in the shape of texas and i dont know why but it made my day! also you should stop at the cadillacs in texas. I'm not sure where...i believe thier past amarillo.

  • in baker, nevada theres a large thermometer. it's nothing to stop for but look at it :)

theres also some neat native american shops in new mexico...theres like 50 of them.

  • I live in california (in the bay area where craigslist was invented) so it's pretty busy there. however take a look on your craigslist and see how many people are on there. I've sold plenty of things on there already. for things you want to sell immediately, price it so you can barter with somebody (so they can walk away feeling like they got a deal) and add OBO (or best offfer) in the description. Also pictures help selling stuff fast. if you got any questions message me!

  • I use to work at the Los Angeles Airport(LAX) and I would suggest talking to the airline a head of time and Many airlines will let you take an animal on the plane depending on the size, but if its not small enough you have to get a traveling cage and they put the animal with the cargo. But I wouldn't recommend that because I have seen the way they put the animals in the cargo and it is just not right.

  • I'm definitely taking him on the plane with me. Thanks for the advice <3

  • your welcome! Thanks for replying. Not many famous youtubers reply to their subscribers. It makes a huge difference. If you have any more questions about the airport, you can ask me if you would like. = ) You should put your cat in one of your videos.

  • Albuquerque is nice. As to what you should do here... Take the tram i guess. longest tram in the world. Get view and resturant at the top of the mountain (though pricey). Maybe find a restaurant in Old Town and order some chili. If you can make it to Gardunos, they have great food (better then their Las Vegas Location). Casa Benevides has the best Breakfast Burritos on the planet (go green chili, not red). Other then that, there's not much to do here.

  • I'm totally stopping in Albuquerque ... I'll check out that tram :)

  • yeah. you definatly stop in albequerque. it depends what u do after. if u want to have a LONG ride, u can go through nashville, greensboro, and little rock. if you take the SHORT way (probablbly will) u will go through st.louis, indianapolis, columbus, kinda by pittsburgh!

  • My husband hates craigslist but i use it sometimes. But if you put something on there you might get offers half of what your asking for. And also my husband travels alot and he said why dont you use pet air they charge like 250.00 dollers to send your pet and its a animal only airline. I have been watching your videos for a while and i think your really funny i usually watch them when im going through chemo so you help me out. Thats too bad that your moving back, but good luck with your move.

  • I'm flying back first anyhow so I'm going to take Sammy on the plane with me. I'm SO happy to hear my videos entertain you during rough times <3 Means a lot, really. It's not bad I'm moving back, I'm happy :) And I will definitely keep making videos!

  • Craigslist is the best, it takes about three or so days to sell if enough interest is there. Make sure that you start at a price higher then you want and work down fro there.

  • Ive used craigslist befor *wink*

  • The Turquoise Room in Winslow is definitely worth a stop, but I'm not sure it will fall into your "quick" category, unless you decide to stay the night in Winslow. La Posada, the hotel in which the Turquoise Room is located, is absolutely amazing and would be a good place to spend the night.

  • so do some research as to how EXACTLY to prepare so you don't have to leave the cat behind!

  • I don't have any answers, sorry, But I did watch a show called Airline and a traveler did take their cat/dog (i forgot which) and they didn't do any research as to what they should've done for the pet and they had to call someone to pick up the cat/dog because they couldn't bring the pet with them....the airline DID say it was possible to bring pets but there was certain criteria (in a carrier, tags, etc.) for the traveler to follow before the flight.

  • i'm sorry i cant answer ur question want to but i cant :(

  • ebay is another good site but yea put it up at anytime. SMPfilms had the same question about cats and he just put them in a comfortable crate and they had one toy so they were fine check out the MEan kittys vid and you'll see

  • Craigslist the good stuff flies (The Creeps are one there to so be careful)

  • craigslist basically depends on what your selling and how many people actually want it lol

  • i wish i could help i have no advice for your questions but ily<3

  • how bout you DONT move, and i come to LA and we be roommates.

  • 3. I did travel, you get a pet carrier then go to a veterinarian, and ask for sleeping pills.. so the dog wont get afraid of the constant movement of the plane or wont cry.Or bark if its a dog,

  • 3. My cat has gone in a plane twice. I organised for someone to pick her up at the other end. Then i drove my car interstate and met up with her a few days later. My cat doesnt like the car so i chose to send her as freight with an airline at the nearest airport to try to reduce the time she would be in transit. I know some people give their pets a sedative from the vet, but i didnt do that.

  • i<3u

  • 1. BRAINS or STFU.

  • i wish i could answer your questions.

    alas i cannot.

    good luck though :)

  • Denise, you can stop here in Albuquerque, NM. Depending on your schedule, a half-day trip to Santa Fe might be nice or take the world's longest tram to the top of Sandia Peak and get a bite to eat up there. If you don't have much time, there are some great restaurants here in the Duke City.

  • Forgot one: Check w/ your airline for any potential pet vaccination, licensing, tagging requirements.

  • 1. Craig's List is THE way to go. You'll get responses right away. List items now if you can live without them. Good stuff goes fast!

    2. See 1.

    3. Get a pet carrier if you don't already have one. Amazon has them and so does Petco and lots of other places. Just put a towel down inside for coziness. And on the plane, any cargo area w/ pets will be heated. My dog flew trans-Atlantic four times. No problems.

    4. See the giant hole, I-40 at Flagstaff, AZ. MeteorCrater dot kom has details.

  • 1. 1 week

    2. Kijiji

    3. ?

    4. Forget I-40, come visit us in Toronto

    :D

  • how are you flying AND

    driving?

  • 1. i never sold furniture lol

    2. never brought a cat or pet to a plane

    3. ?_?

    4. ?_?

  • Get the cat a tranquilizer. You will probably have to check him though. I dont think they let him sit in the seats. You can stop in vegas, that would be cool.

  • sedate the kitty and put him in a cat carrier

  • Craigslist is best sell your furniture you dont need at least a month to two months in advanced and for the pet get him/her all the shots needed have proof that the cat was seen by a vet for a check up and thats about it the airline before you take off feeds the pets under the flight deck and i suggest you dont drive if you plan to have someone fly down from NY to go with you just in case maybe dad or a big brother ?? hope this helps and for the fridge you can sell at last minute super cheap!!

  • idk know anything of those but let me investigate love you and wish you the best of luckes

  • 2: Local Paper, ask everyone you knwo and ask them to ask everyone that they know if someone needs a Frig and Bed.

3: I drugged my cat. I asked my vet for something that was safe and they gave me four pills for the plan ride. Two for there and two for the ride back. What it did was just make my cat fall asleep fr the six hour flight.

  • 1: Once you hit submit on craigslist the post is up for all to see. If you want it to sell fast, make sure you have a reasonable price and have good pictures of them. It helps a lot. You can put up a date that the item will be available for pick up. So someone could buy the stuff before you move and then pick up when it's good for you.

  • JPXer is right about every word when it comes to craigslist. As far as pets, just look over the TSA website or airline website and they should have tips or *ugh* customer service in terms of policy, but for the most part, the pet in a cage would suffice.

These aren't all on i40 but you can take side-tracks to Phoenix, Dallas, Houston, Memphis, and...uh...others. You have friends near or in all those places I know. :)

  • i drove with my dog from the Atlantic Ocean to Las Vegas and back 3 times. It was good. He liked it. Just gave him his bed and a pillow. But have never flown with a pet and a dog is not a cat.

Also, question for you: after you move are you still going to make videos?

  • just ship your cat UPS ground, will take about 10-15 days

  • NO U!

  • EmptysAwesome is a tool

  • There are tons of things on I-40, cause it's pretty much how Route 66 went, before I-40 was built. So, I say, take as much in as you can take in, Denise.

  • I traveled across country with my boxer puppy and cat. My cat is extremely vocal. You can go to the vet and get a type of sedative for your cat that helps them stay relaxed while traveling, the stress can be horrible on them. PLUS, that way she can ride up with you instead of under the plane. It's like $200 or more to put her under the plane, which is already horrible because it's not a controlled environment. Good luck!!!!!! :)

  • Craigslist will sell REALLY fast once you price it right. I've sold a TV and a Fridge both in less than a day. Your ad will probably generate lots of calls if you give a number. You may want to only leave an email. Just be sure and respond quickly because a potential buyer wont wait around for long before moving on.

No idea on the other stuff!

  • Dont rate this video again Denise XD

  • I'd talk with local friends to see if they need any of the stuff you're wanting to get rid of. Have them ask other friends/family as well. It might be better and/or faster than trying to sell via Craigslist.

  • There is no guaranteed time frame on any type of sale, especially ones from Craig's List. If your move is a for sure thing, then decide how long can you go without a bed or a fridge and post add accordingly. Worst case scenario, donate them to a legit charity and take it off your taxes.

  • -My penis

  • I have only taken my pets with my in my car. Which works fairly well if you have a kennel/carrier. Though my cat kept meowing at me cause she hates cars.

  • I am 6th..... But your questions

    - Craig list, takes up to 4 weeks for things like a bed and big bulky things.. I did the same thing when i moved and it was in Idaho (aka not to many people unlike Cali. )

    - Have fun on road trip

    - No Pet.. no advise...

    Have fun on road trip

  • Post your stuff on Craigslist at least a month or more before you move... List the things at a reasonable price, or put 'best offer'.. You can always buy new things after you move... List the things in your local section on Craigslist, and then list them in some surrounding areas, if they want it, they will come get it... Hope this helps at least a little... Good Luck Denise!!

    --WiLL

  • try kijiji and craigslist??

  • ive never sold anything on that.

    i like to use eBay

I have not. Maybe if they don't let you.. STUFF HIM IN YOUR SUITCASE LOLZ!

    IDK I live in Canada

  • post your furniture on craigslist first..that way when you move you'll have that money coming in already...instead of moving..and then waiting to post on craigslist..

    or have a yards sale!
