In Texas, cyclists are not subject to dui, just a public intoxication. I suppose the principle involved is that a drunk cyclist, like an errant dog crossing the street, will probably do much more damage to himself and not so much to innocent people's property.

Apparently you don't have a driver's license. ANY motorized vehicle, including a golf cart is illegal to drive on any road while under the influence. And that goes for bicycles too. Cyclist must follow the same rules as automobiles. But you would know that if you had a license because it's on the test.
