Why the Spanish royal flag?

The flag represent the Spanish Inquisition. I felt that one of the largest impact of spreading a religion in the world, were by the Spaniards. Especially the Conquistadors who were brutal in forcing a new religion on countries they had conquered. Every religion has had its own brutality, which at the time was felt justified.
