It gets repetitive if you start to do all the side-quests. Even the main game isn't overly original, but for Spidey fans the fun-factor outweighs virtually all the shortcomings.

Yeah a lot of people have said they felt other media outlets were overly harsh on this game. I personally thought it was a lot of fun :)

well good to see a review that does not tear this game a new one i have been wondering wether do get this game and i have heard that it sucks. but now it is at half price where i live 10 dollars. i had to get it after this review i am looking forward. to it. by the way is it true that this game has bad framerate on the PS3 and is mhuch better on the 360 ???????

Activision sent us the 360 version of the game, but when I played a comparison of the PS3 version I didn't notice anything too drastic. It's possible moments like this exist though.

i am a spiderman fan boy too i love all spiderman games i read lots of the spider man comics i liked the cartoons spiderman is my favorite marvel character.

Except for Brand New Day. Until then the Spideran Series was at its Prime. After OMD the series has just been steadly declining and thanks to Shaba Games its a new story for Spidey meaning that its not Mainstream Continuity Shaba the company to build this game was smart and did that. Thank GOd

can I just add that this was probably some of the most fun i have ever had with a game? I mean, i've played great games like halo, far cry, etc but theres always some kind of stress involved---soemthing that is both bad and good.

but this game is just PURE fun and makes u have a good time. it makes me wanna wake up early to play it or stay up ridiculously late, its just got that addicting quality to it. thanks for a great review, i was really upset that it got bashed by other places

I think everyone loved Spider-Man 2 because it managed to get the whole GTA free-roaming stuff working well. In the original you couldn't hit the street level whenever you wanted, etc. This game has advanced that general mechanic greatly and we're all hoping that things will continue to move in a forward direction.

You're quite welcome. I don't know why so many other media outlets have been so harsh on the game. I thought the story was really enjoyable. Then again, I'm a really hardcore Spidey fan ;)

Honestly though, I didn't find the game overly childish. If anything I was surprised by how much fun the game was. Sure the camera can be a pain in the butt, but the action more than makes up for it.
