I like the fact that that southern Ohioan was considering Obama even with all the misinformation he had. That actually spoke volumes about where the country is going. That was very progressive! Even in the face of those lies, he could still see enough goodness in Obama to be headed that way.

There aren't actually any high notes in the Pledge of Allegiance, which is recited, not sung. The man in the video thought Obama didn't know the National Anthem, not the Pledge.

I wouldn't characterize them so harshly, but I do have to agree with you. Parts of southern Ohio are quite Appalachian. (I'm from central Ohio.) At any rate, I don't recognize the man in the piece as a typical Ohio voter.

He's from Chillicothe, Ohio. The 60 Minutes piece this is from is only about Ohio. I think they said he worked at one of the paper factories that's closing. I watched the full piece a couple of days ago. This guy actually comes off much better in the full piece. He's quite sympathetic.

Southeastern Ohio is a part of Appalachia, just like West Virginia and Eastern Kentucky.
Ohio is really five states: Northeastern Industrial Ohio, Agricultural Ohio, Small Town Ohio, Backwoods Ohio and urban Ohio (Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, Toledo).

Ya something like that. Green was Mohammed's favourite colour i think, si=o they had / have green flags and such, like "red" means communist. The Crescent moon thing is a definate physical symbol.

my parents got a forwarded email talking about how obama is a muslim. i had them forward it to me, and i forwarded them a link to a video of him discussing black liberation theology and what it means to him to be a christian. i am an atheist, but it bothers me too to see people throw around muslim like that is a horrible and unheard of thing to be.

Are you a sucker? Depends how your react to it. Every right/freedom you have right now, some one fought for it. Freedom isn't a gift and must constanly be protected. And when I say 'fought' I don't mean litteraly fighting/voilence. Remember Ghandi, best example of fighting for freedom without voilence. Yup as a person that grew up in Ohio I can definitively say that the state is infested with those sorts of ignorant hicks. That's why we're a swing state, cities full of decently intelligent people, countryside full of morons.
