Thank you so much for posting this, my cd had a few scratches and I really missed listening to it. I encourage people to listen to as many other versions as they can find and then come back to this one. It's slow tempo, retained brass, lamenting violins and thoughtful clarinet make it the best and, at the same time, darkest recording of any Mozart opus. And the old "poor" quality of this recording merges all the instruments into a unique wave of melancholy and submittance before one's mortality.
The incomparable Bruno Walter gives another side of the genius of Mozart in this powerful live performance in Paris. This is one of Mozart's more dramatic works and it is a deeply moving rendition by the very fine French National Orchestra.
Thanks for this!!!
