@chrissynb You need to record your daughter singing the national anthem onto a CD or DVD. Make sure it is a best performance, and maybe have a friend do it who has something like GarageBand or a PC-based audio program to make sure it sounds really good. Then contact your sports teams of choice. Local sports teams are easiest and they frequently have programs set up to find local talent to sing the anthem. Major sports teams are harder, but many (like the Eagles) have such programs. Good luck!

We had no control over the echo. What you hear is the natural acoustics of Lincoln Financial Field's sound system. The speakers are located so far away from where we were sitting, it takes time for the sound to travel that distance, and that's the echo you hear. In fact, Bria was wearing ear plugs so she would not be thrown off by the echo. As for trying too hard, we respect your opinion, but the judges disagree with you - Bria was named the winner of the competition.

It's VERY hard. Bria had earplugs in for the audition to minimize the ~3/4 second delay in what she sang, to when she heard it back through the PA. During the actual performance, the Eagles outfitted her with a wireless headset which let her hear ONLY her voice, and no outside influences like an echo - Bria's Dad.

I saw Bria sing the national anthem at a minor league hockey game last week. She has a powerful voice, but it seems like she has added a lot more vocal twists and what are supposed to be 'flares' to show off. And they didn't work in Norfolk. She did a couple here, but they weren't too overdone and came across fine. This song = the straighter sung the better. Got a great voice, keep it up, sing it straight.

I am posting the above comment because it is an opinion without venom. The opinion that 'straighter is better' is not held by all. Bria does not sing a large number of 'twists' and 'flares', and they are not to to "show off". The Anthem should give people goose bumps. The straighter it is sung (IMHO) the more ho-hum it becomes. Bria's reaction received at Admirals, Tides (and Eagles!) games seems to run counter with this opinion. Search for "Bria Kelly Anthem" and see what YOU think.

Thanx for posting it. I'm certainly not trying to insult her. As I said she has a great voice. She did too many variations for my taste at the admirals game; however,watching this video it appears she doesn't always do quite as many. I know some people DO enjoy 'runs' quite a bit & I agree that the song is supposed to give chills,but I 'm the type that a powerful singer hitting a fantastic note is far more likely to give me chills than someone running up & down the scale around a note.

FYI, we just got back from the Richmond Renegades (her video is on YouTube doing both the American and Canadian Anthems) and a fan posted to a Renegades blog, saying what an AWESOME anthem singer they had there. So, it really comes down to personal taste - straight or with flair. We will continue to encourage her just do it "her way".
