  • I need link and gear dimensions.. its urgent.. please mail the sketches to my mail id: arun.csk02@gmail.com

  • A bit deceptive: there's nothing keeping the fingertips parallel as your animation shows. You need a parallelogram linkage instead of the trapezoidal one shown.

  • @ercost60 that depends on what your intended application is a trapezoidal configuration will give you a little bit different of a reach pattern, but if you aim to keep the plates parallel then you are correct you would need a parallel linkage setup. The pads are free to swivel though so it would allow for grabbing at various angles.

  • can send me the drawing design please? my email is sf.lau820@gmail.com

  • please send to me the sketchs.. this is my mail sukasuki_09@yahoo.com

  • @serabutgiler9 In case you haven't found it yet the Solidworks 09 files are available on my website at installerworldDOTcom on the main page.

  • can u give the drawing desing please...??

    i need it..

    urgent..

  • Good!!!!

  • The Solidworks 09 files are available on my website at installerworldDOTcom on the main page.

  • would you send me the sketchs of the gripper you´d help me a lot if you can i´d be very grateful my mail is leobas_15_15@hot, i hope u help me see ya

  • I love this. I have to design a four-bar linkage for my dynamics course and i'm looking to do something creative like this. Did you design this model yourself? Or did you use ideas from somewhere else?

  • @SkaterK3 I actually designed this myself but the concept of a 4 bar linkage for a gripper is not new. I just made the worm gear input application of it, most others that i have seen use a servo motor with a crank arm style design. One word of caution in building something like this is that you have need feedback on current draw (or limit switches) to know when it reaches the end of it's travel, this keeps the worm gear from messing up the motor brushes/commutator.

  • @1TwistedmindZ1 Yeah, I figured. Thanks for the reply!

  • Why do the gripper surfaces stay parallel on both sides while the arms they are attached on change angle when they are moving?

I tried to make some animations too check out my video's =)

  • @BRIGHTLIGHTSIDE you have to set constraints when you assemble the gripper, i made a parallel mate to have them maintain their alignment.

  • @1TwistedmindZ1 Yeah I understand how it in SolidWorks works but if you made it in real life you can not make such mates so i thought you made a hidden mechanism or something =)

  • @BRIGHTLIGHTSIDE i added those plates to allow the gripper to grasp flat objects at any angle that they might be positioned initially. There would be no centering mechanism for this particular design although with springs i am sure it is possible.

  • awesome

  • Thank you so much!

  • exelente la verdad, con unos compañeros tenemos que hacer un brazo robotico y el ver este video nos ayudo mucho a tener una idea de como vamos a hacer la pinza, muchas gracias.

  • yo..it is awesome..it will help me alot in my project..keep it up 5*

  • thnks alot
