Dove symbolizes the promise of peace turned into the machine of war. Hitler was known to have used religious icons (people) to cause dissolution of his agenda weather direct or indirect to the public. The flying crosses seen in this animation could possibly represent that "going with the Dove to Plane metamorphosis Theme.

I have always considered this song to be chilling metaphor elapsing the bombings across the cities of England during World War II by the Germans and how difficult it was to restore any kind of mental and spiritual balance to it's People. This is a very dear song to me.

its not my fav or awesome, it is an insult to british and americans, french, all who died as a result of fascist germany. They were brave, and heros, not sheep. This if you look, is an insult. I was a floyd fan, biggest fan, I have heard this before and wondered. Now I am convinced it is no good. The British flag did not disintegrate, in the opposite, it stood strong and defeated the swastika. This a weird video, I saw the movei a couple times, it is impressive, but not true.

They are British hiding from bombs from the Nazi Luftwaffe during the Battle of Britain during World War Two. The coat of arms for Germany is a black eagle, hence the metallic eagle. You can see London Bridge at 0:46. The British flag falls apart and becomes a bloody St. George's cross. I am not sure what the message is there. Maybe it is a return to militancy.

I first watched this movie when I was 15 and saw/rented it a few more times afterwards. :) This is one of my fave songs. Sort of gloomy and disturbing it's a classic! those famous marching hammers are just so darn cool!
