  • I did wind up putting a washing machine pan under it to protect the wood floors because the cats like to splash the water so much. Three months later and they still play with it like when it was new. The fascination hasn't worn off.

  • 3. Unless they drop something in the dish (like their toys) I change the water and wash it once a week. It has two filters - a debris filter over the motor and a charcoal filter for the water that gets changed every other week.

    4. Haven't seen any orange mold. Haven't felt any slime in the bowl when I clean it, either.

  • 1. The clips that hold the center cone on place are a little difficult to remove and put back on. The company is supposed to be working on a better design for the clips, but I haven't checked lately to see if they've got them for sale yet. Otherwise, not hard to clean.

    2. It does get hard water stains, but I have one of those oversized steel wool looking scrubby things that takes the deposits off very easily.

  • I have a few questions about this fountain and I hope you can answer them for me. :D

    1. How easy is it to clean?

    2. Does it get hard water stains that won't come off?

    3. How often do you need to change the water and wash it?

    4. Does it ever get that orange mold, like the plastic fountains do?

    Thanks, Rose
