    Thanks bro

  • did you replace the barrel or just polish it?

  • @cfeder45

No, I didn't replace the barrel. I had my gunsmith chrome line it for better wear and corrosion resistance. :)

  • You don't have to sandblast the part before applying Alumahyde?

  • @BoondockSaint3k

Brownells says it isn't necessary. A good sanding will do.

Of course, if you want to sandblast, why not. :)

  • @miGsKills

No, I don't have the resources to sandblast. What grit sandpaper did you use?

  • Nice piece! I'm in California, U.S.A and I normally apply a thin coat of oil/lubricant to the metal surfaces of my 1911 when I store it. Curious at how the humidity and weather affects the care and storage of the 1911 in the Philippines. Even with the Alumahyde coating, are you afraid of rust appearing on your pistol because of humidity? Nice gun and great video!

  • @opusrideshoot

I do the same with my firearms that are blued or parkerized.

The Alumahyde 2 finish I applied does a great job of protecting the steel from corrosion. The only parts I lubricate right now are the slide rails and the locking lugs. :)
