Don't you guys forget that is was OBAMA who signed a $500-million stimulus bill to kick start the economy when it was in the pits. He withdrew troops from Iraq, closed the Guatanamo Bay detention camp, reformed health care, and probably contributed way more than I feel McCain ever would. The US had a BIG recovery because of him, even though there's still some issues.

Our unemployment rate got worse after the stimulus bill was passed, (and it was a $1 trillion stimulus, not $500 million). The troop withdrawal date in Iraq was set before Obama became president. The health care reform bill is a disaster, and many states are opposing it as being unconstitutional. To top it all off, Obama has added $4 trillion to the national debt in just 3 years.

There is an error. She says Barack Obama will be the 44th President to enter the White House. Washington, the 1st President, did not enter the W.H. It wasn't until 1800, that a President John Adams (2nd President) entered the white house. Also Grover Cleveland was President twice serving two non consecutive terms. Therefore Obama is technically the 42nd President to enter the White House.

Just a quick note. The tax cuts for the "rich" were set to be revised in 2012, not ended. They just didn't have a solution. The tax cuts were addressed 12 times under Obama. Unfortunatley, The Obama admin was too busy to vote on them, so they let them go.

Of course, there are those (Dems mainly) who felt Obama should've acted earlier, but that's not the point. These decisions aren't taken in isolation. My opinion: BUSH fucked your nation up economically and globally. That won't be reversed in one term, hence Obama will prevail. The GOP have NO serious answers other than same ole same ole. @Talent2008 The sunset provision your thinking of was 2011. That was regarding the Estate Tax repeal. Or, as some state, the "wealthy tax". This is where people who have over a certain amount of millions have to pay a tax when they pass away. It was ignored, and in 2011, there was no tax. The Obama admin actually increased the amount of money wealthy people can leave behind in 2011 and 2012. It's 5Million per person and 12MM for married. Yes, Bush screwed up, but Clinton did as well.

It wasn't until 1800, that a President John Adams (2nd President) entered the white house. Also Grover Cleveland was President twice serving two non consecutive terms. Just a quick note. The tax cuts for the "rich" were set to be revised in 2012, not ended. They just didn't have a solution. The tax cuts were addressed 12 times under Obama. Unfortunatley, The Obama admin was too busy to vote on them, so they let them go.

@Talent2008 don't be naiive no-one's biased,. Again I ask - where is the young white flight poll you previously mentioned? Also remember, polls are a SNAPSHOT of satisfaction/dissasatisfaction at a given point in time. Lib Dems r pissed & rightly so. However, this will NOT transfer to a vote against Obama & def not a vote for GOP. Again, Bush fucked things up; recession happened; tools left for Obama 2 response very limited. GOP types are idiots if they think this is all down to Obama DUH!.

President Barack Obama is losing support from his base, according to a new Washington Post/ABC News poll released on Tuesday that finds his backing from liberals and African-Americans has plummeted.
The percentage of liberal Democrats who strongly support the president’s job policies has dropped in the past year, from 53 percent to 31 percent, the poll shows.

@Talent2008 these are not surprising as Obama is fighting an econ catastrophe left by BUSH (ok I understand maybe electing BUSH for 1 term - BUT TWO??) and further complicated by the global recession caused by the greed of the free market (cough cough) GOP types. However, if you think this will transfer to votes elsewhere - wake up dood. Core is solid for Obama2012, albeit grumpy. Mate, what are you on? Get into the real world.

I really think that if the Republicans find the right person, they have a good chance. For some reason, they have been picking complete idiots to run. Yes, Bush screwed things up. But he wasn't alone. The whole financial breakdown is much deeper than Bush. Both Dems and Republicans pushed congress to lower interest rates. Then wall street came up with new ideas to make money. nobody watched them. Dems backed them up. Bush ignored it, homeowners got greedy, and everyone paid.

I don't understand all of the "I cried when he won" comments. People were crying simply bc of Obamas skin color. If the US has truly progressed, Obama's win should've been celebrated on his merits as a human being, not by his skin tone.

@StuUngar They cried because this was a symbol of a hopeful nation. We hoped that this would be the death knell of racism. They cried because this would inspire our sons and daughters. Even if America never elects another black president...we as African Americans will have at least one example of what's obtainable when we dream and aim for the sky.

@lastavius I can understand that to a certain degree. I would just hope for a day when there's not African Americans, Hispanic Americans, etc, and instead, everyone is simply American.
I'm a full blood Native American, and I understand there is no magic spell that will end racism. It will always be there. What we become and what we do in life should not depend on what another member of our race accomplishes. We all have it in us to be great, no matter what obstacles are in front of us.

the overwhelming feelings brings tears of joy to my eyes man even though he's been in office for 3 years, i still get emotional. this one is for the books indeed, i'm able to witness history in the making and KNOW thousands of years later this will be mentioned and i will tell my great grand kids that i saw the first black president walk in the white house. man i'm still overwhelmed tears form in my eyes.
