Yeah the 3.0 firmware has nothing to do with it its just that the 3Gs CPU is freakin monster compared to the iPhone 3G which means its 3x faster then the 3G and loads everything faster.

well i think that the 3G was slower because it had more things. in the 3G you had like 7 pages of apps, and it was jailbroken which it kind of makes it more slower if you download a lot of things from cydia (at least mine does). so i think that you should restore the 3G as it was new, and that way we could see better results....but of course i think the 3GS would be more faster anyway but we would see the real difference in speed.
