Now that I think of it... I attempted to hunt down the ending for Blazeon. The arcade version has an ending. The SNES version had the ending presumably wiped out. The tune remained, but there was no references to the ending tune anywhere.
So, I guess I'll never be able to see this ending unless I watch this video, because I have the cart - I don't use emulators. But seriously, this ending was in there the whole time, but would never play due to poor coding? Truth is, I slayed over the game, but never got to Wily; I just heard this game had no ending, but not back when I got it about 13 years ago. I guess it wouldn't matter and I would've been even more disappointed in the end than before. Glad you found it.
As if the ending being disabled wasn't bad enough, the programming to unlock Dr. Wily executes during this full ending! And that, in turn, makes the secret staff roll seen in the other video impossible to access without a game enhancer. Oops!
@KungFuFurby As with many Capcom games, there's the leftover text SAMPLE VERSION, which means at one point there was a preview build of the game used for trade shows and such. It's quite possible the ending was disabled then to prevent spoilers before the game was released, then the programmers forgot to undo the change.

You need a Game Genie or Pro Action Replay to unlock the ending... possible, but with hacking required.

Nice to see the full ending, but ... wow. It's really thrown together. So I guess MM is saved by Protoman?
By the way: zophar.net/savestates/zsnes/mega-man-soccer.html - for those of us who don't want to play through everything.

So basically the devs intentionally made the game go back to the title screen? It must have been a mistake.

I agree. Big mistake.
