I think the Sparta was not in the Delia league, while in the Peloponessian league created by them, before the Persian war. And the Athens could control the league because of their strong army. It appears to be what you have been told in the class, so, if I have a wrong idea here, tell me please. Also, indeed no reason can I find in playing that music as the background. are u stupid? :P The reason they did so was because they were mainly asked from their allies,the corinths,to defeat the atheneans because they had too much sea power and the conrinthians were kind of "left off".

They DID have a sense of jealously,but not one to start a war. After all they respected them too,as fellow greeks that had helped in the war against the persians.

I love this game! We played this game back when we were 10-12 years old with my cousins in our grandfathers' village in Greece (Macedonia!).

We could use very old (antique) village-style kitchen and washing vessels for shields and vessels and long sticks for throwing javelins, spears and short ones for swords.

I can say ours was 10 times more violent as we really aimed with force the "oppenent". You had to stick for good to your shield to absorb the loud shock of the javelin or really jump out

And when we attacked with the long spear we aimed at feet and head ... same with the swords but the fight with the javelins and spears was the best part as it was the most spectacular and violent (swords ended up in just hitting each others' shields or really falling on the other, not much of a technique or aiming...

As much as violent... I invite every kid (at least boys) to play it. Do not be afraid of bruises or blood... it is just pure fan.. just protect your eyes only... you play for fun, not to kill each other...
