i just bought a used 12 inch kicker with a 1000 watt mono alpine amp.. how much should the amp be turned up?

@italianmf34100 you need to use an o-scope or a DMM (like 13 bucks at walmart) and set the gain that way. that alpine amp runs at 2 ohms. so you want about 400-500 watts for that kicker. so a DMM can measure voltage. set it up to AC voltage and put the 2 test probe things on the positive and negative holes of the amp. download a 40 hz test tone (search google) play that on your headunit at about 1/2 to 3/4 max volume, then turn up the gain untill the DMM reads 30 volts. your all set :)

@moddkilla capacitors are only good if you have ZERO voltage drop. which involves a huge amount of batteries, several HO alternators, and a shit load of wire. capacitors can help in filtering out SOME amount of clipping that is sent from the amp, if their is any. but they definatly arent better than another battery.. know what the fuck your talking about

I got this few days ago a friend of mine gave me an ecoustic box for real nice sound quality. the JL makes bass an nice sound quality same for RE audio(huge bass)
