@70sendling Not evry Controller DJ is a "DJ-Controller-User-Not-DJ" you can do things with traktor that aren't possible like sample deck via Maschine (i do that) but Sync is for Idiots i only use it if a am to drunk for beatmatch :D

The 850 on the right has a memory stick plugged into it but the screen just says "connected" and shows the computer icon. This means that he's using the 850 as a MIDI controller for Traktor through the USB port on the back.

Haha, laptop "djing" is now more than the standard now, since it even appears in pioneer's ads. Playing with the effects while the software syncs everything? How boring. I could send my cat next time. He would be cheaper than this person in the video or you "djs". Keep it up people, and don't forget to configure your sync shortcut.

@bufu182 The setup is connected vis usb straight from the back of the cdj into the laptop, this allows the cdj to be used as a contoller without the need of an audio interface.

850s are good, I owned them for a good while. Updated to the 900s and they are great.. the difference for me was totally worth it. ...Id changed the 1000s for 900s for sure. Must say I was really disappointed as a 850 owner.. firmware updates took forever. ciao a tutti..

@DjAlekzMoreno honestly i dont like the idea of dj with a computer to me it takes thefun out of it but i used to use cds now since i got the 900s i use both cds and flashdrives eventually i will only use flashdrives but the decision is totally up to you i think you should keep the 1000s and if you can afford the 850s or even the 900s/2000 you should get them and use 4 decks!!!!

@DjAlekzMoreno The differences with the 850 & 900 is that the 900 has a tilted screen & the 850 has a flat screen with different display, the 900 has slipmode which is not on the 850, the auto beat loop is different as well, the 900 has triplet beat function whereas the 850 doesn't, also the 900's have the link function which enables you to connect 2 cdj's to share music libraries, this feature is not on the 850 although you can still use USB and also use the cdj as a controller for software.

They release the silver to attract the early adopters (I.e. to screw them over) and the rest of us that want but didn't buy now have another reason to look. That's how this industry rolls. Unless you're the 1% the ONLY WAY TO MAKE REAL MONEY IN THIS SCENE IS TO SELL THE GEAR. What you own is already good enough. How many ways do you need to play other music?
