bear by no means is intending to mislead you as to weather or not he is near civilization or actually in a life and death situation - he is using nature as a set so he is able to give us real life examples of what decisions you should make given these circumstances. anyone who goes on about how fake he is need to get it through their head that he isnt pretending to be alone, they could do this series indoors, but they do it outside for authenticity.

It must be hard getting to safety when ever you start climbing cliffs right next to Hanauma Bay (Hawaii) then the next moment you are in the middle of the jungle. Grylls should have just swam a few meters west and he could have had access to snack bars, phones, taxi's etc. Maybe someone should tell him next time?

Sharks aren't that interested on us the only way we get eaten is because of the things we do that gets them confuse like bogey boarding and surfing from what the shark see they thought we are seal.If you are wounded in a shark infested water the chances are is 50 to 1 if not wounded its 0 depends how know about shark.

Blood attracts sharks really easily. You'll see sharks if you're injured in a shark-zone. Don't know how often you'd be attacked, but the blood could send them into a feeding frenzy.
