I wonder why Lofgren never became very successful, as he should have been. He had the talent to become another Knopfler or Springsteen. Even Chris Rea had more commercial success than him.
The drummer is Johnny "Bee" Badanjek of The Detroit Wheels, Detroit, The Rockets, Hell Drivers and others. Is a great Drummer.....perhaps not in the right context for your tastes, but always remains a great drummer
For me Lofgren is a hidden guitarist in the topp, bether than Springsteen, Steven van Zandt.
MY dreams is Lofgren and Clapton.....

I wondered the same thing, back in '79, and now I realize he has done very well.
We all know he's the greatest guitarist in the states.
Success is in the mind of the beholder.
