Nice video, but you really need a microphone windscreen. It's a foam ball that fits over the mike head that would greatly reduce the wind noise so we could hear the locomotive!

I believe this is the only narrow guage diesel operation in the U.S. Actually, the only n.g. rail in actual revenue service! These locos (4 of them) were built for the WPY, but the order was canceled. USG acquired two of them, wrecked one, and acquired a third. One actually made it to the WPY! (White Pass & Yukon)
@areakt: They interchange with UP. There's a local that comes out of El Centro, saw it approaching Plaster City 3 years ago. The cars can't be interchanged since the gauges are different, of course. I haven't stayed the whole day to watch the operations unfold so that may have to be the goal for the next visit.

Yeah, that would be cool! They must have some sort of transfer trestle then to handle the interchange of goods. Would be neat to see that in action!
