Well I'll be, it's Marc. I bought this vid from you about seven years ago and have watched it numerous times. It was called The Early Years then. The loft, Poe park, Gene's old high school, Paul's old apartment, Peter's old neighborhood.. etcetera. I particularly like that one guys memorabilia collection. Cool promo, good to see you posting here.
We're from Australia, we went to many of these places in Nov 97 & again in Jan 2000. The then owner of Loft told us that these guys had been there filming. Great to see it's finally out. We also went to Ace's childhood apartment in Marion Ave The Bronx & his parents were still living there at the time. We spent time talking to his Mom & got some great photos with her inside the apartment. A very nice lady, God rest
I went to the (church?) that was the inspiration for the Elder door. I got the location info from Dennis Woloch at a '95 kiss convention. I went to the loft entrance on 23rd st and the doorman was really old and didn't speak much english but knew about Kiss and knew why I was there right off the bat. I wonder if he was there from back in the day?
When we went to the loft back in 1999, it was a saturday and the owner let us in to make the video. We didn't see a doorman at all, but it was a saturday and it was primarliy businesses that were in the building at the time.
