This movie was partially filmed I'm my hometown. My friends brother rented the third floor of their house to shoot scenes in. I remember seeing Sara Rue from a distance, she's a very pretty girl in person.

the ending is sad... there is such a sadness in the air... this was filmed right before the collapse of the twin towers. the last scene shows gypsy with the two towers in the background.

This movie has absolutely nothing to do with stevie nicks. Reminds me of the film bandstand where the kid writes letters to david bowie. The idea of these celebrities is the only thing relevant to them in these movies. The movie could have stood alone without the name drop of stevie nicks.

Im glad you liked gypsy 83, and Im gonna tell you something thats 100% true, my ex-wife was friends and penpal with the real guy that "Clive" was based on...sometimes in 02-03 Byron (his real name) called by ex on the phone and after a brief crying session over nothing really, he committed suicide by drug over dose...true! My Ex cried like crazy over this move bc she knew him and she was probably the last person to talk to him. So, there cant be a part 2, the movie was based on a true story.

that is sad. and i'm inclined to believe you because after a little investigation i read an interview from the producer that clive was based off of a dude named Art H-something, and that in 2004 someone on a forum (in talking about the film and Art: "Our own little goth cashier boy to whom the film was dedicated") said that they would 'miss' Art H-something (and wondered what he would have thought of the film).

No his real name was Byron and his name is in the credits in the movie..I guess they dont really want to say who it was based on due to legal issues..But my ex says the character is EXACTLY like the real Byron all the way down to his looks and everything...it was stupid, he killed himself for NO REASON, just a spurr of the moment thing because he was drunk.
