@aykay312 1080p is Progressive pixels, and 1080i are interpolated pixels. P is better. Some HD camcorders do record in 1080P now days. But most will only do it under 24P cinema mode. Meaning instead of recording in 29.97 frames per second, it will do it at 24 frames per second.
@juliafan23 Just upload the videos directly onto youtube, but if you are going to edit them make sure you save them as HD videos according to your editing software, meanwhile you can check my tutorial, it works with any AVCHD camcorder
Hi, i have this camera and i have a class 10 memory card and i even record with UXP settings on. But the quality is shocking!! I have tried more or less everything but the video's don't seem to be improving on quality. If you want you can check out my video's, do you have any advice about how i can get my video's like yours?? The highest mine go up to is 240 aswell :( :( Please reply
@LedZepCovers Are they in low resolution off the camera? or just when you upload them to youtube? If the quality is horrible when playing on a HD monitor or TV using the camera, chances are your SDMC might be faulty, also check any software that you may be using to play your videos. Now if the quality is horrible when playing uploading your videos to youtube, follow my how to upload videos to youtube guide and see what happens. Let me know whats going on.
@rockerojuan Hi, your video REALLY helped as i have just uploaded a test video and i could view it at a maximum of 1080p :) So thank you :D The only other thing i can think of asking you while i'm here is - I uploaded it to Youtube via the MTS file like you said, but what if i wanted to convert that into a file suitable for a program like Windows Movie Maker (WMV File) Because i have tried that aswell and the highest i could get was 240p when i converted the file using the software JVC provided
@LedZepCovers Am very glad it did work and it helped ya out. Now, I know that Windows Movie Maker is just a basic video editing program but it can convert your files. My Windows 7 movie maker does support the HD capabilities, but I suggest you to use a 3rd party HD editing software for the best results. I use Cyberlink's Power Director and it works great. Other than that, I would try searching online for free or tryouts of HD video converters, and see what happens. Let me know what happens.
@rockerojuan I actually have a copy of cyberlinks power director but must have forgot about it :O Well i'll figure out how to use it and change the format of the video to something like WMV or AVI :) Thanks for the help and advice man, i really appreciate it, subscribed to you and recommended you :')
@rockerojuan Hi man it's me again, there's no problems with the quality or anything i can convert all my files (just like you did on the tutorial to 1080p) The ONLY problem is - is that, it take literally about 8 hours for a 4/5minute clip to convert to a WMV format..... is this normal? Am i doing it correctly? My friend uses a different camera and that takes 10minutes...... :(
@LedZepCovers Hi there, am glad you where able to get your vids onto 1080P. Now there are various factors that can cause your videos to take so extremely long. One of them is your computer resources, if you don't have a juicy machine to transcode your videos from one format to another, it will take a very long time. The second can also be the software you are using, if you are using Windows Movie Maker, this program tends to take very long to transcode, I would suggest getting a retail
@LedZepCovers ---> get a retail video editing program for best results. Such as Vegas, Cyberlink, Adobe of if you have a Mac use imove or finalcut. Another tip, when you convert your videos, make sure you are using a copy of the video directly from your hard drive, not the memory card. Depending on your system, mine takes about 1-2 minutes of transcoding time for every 8-10 minute HD video. I have 4 core processor system 3.4Ghz, 8 GB RAM, try using a friends computer for the same video.
@The808bmx Make sure you settings are set to UXP like you have mentioned. I do not own this camera anymore, but make sure you are using at least a Class 6 Memory card, because if it is a lower class EX: Class 4, is not fast enough to record in 1080P. Let me know.
What spoils this video is your Camera was set to allow digital zooming, the result is the Bee pixelated when zooming beyond Optical zoom.. I would recommend digital zoom capability be removed if at all possible..
@rockerojuan Oops! {Blush} I guess I should have read up on the videos details, detailing reasons as to why in the universe, anyone would use digital zoom..
@obunkystaind 1080 means you are recording 1,080 lines of pixel going vertically on your screen. 1080i stand for interlaced, and 1080p stands for progressive. Progressive lines give you the sharpest and best recording result.
Hey man! I just got this camcorder and I just can't figure out how to upload my videos on YouTube full HD. How do you do it!???? Also what setting do you have on your camcorder to record 1080i? The top one? XP or UXP?
@HiR0N7 To record in 1080i your settings should be set to UXP. And if you need help uploading your videos, browse my videos and check out my tutorials on how to upload to youtube. If you need further assistance let me know.
What is the worst thing about this camera, can we attach an external mic to this thing , can it really record in 1920x1080 , 1080p or 1080i ? how long is the battery life on continuous recording in HD, how is low light can we use other light for like a lamp feel , how is the memory ,
@roshraw The worst thing would be it has very low light sensitivity. It suppose to record up to 1920 X 1080P but it only records 1080i. There is no internal memory but only the one you supply for it, it does work nicely though since you can add up two SDHC cards of 32GB each, or so I think. The battery lasts about 2HR but you can also get a second spare from your favorite auction site. And I don't see a input for an external microphone.
btw I have a question, how would u rate or comment on the image stabilizer? e.g for filming sports event(while hand-helded), or when recording a scenery while u are walking.
@repivonex Thanks for the complement, now, the stabilizer is not that great really... as you can see I was using a tripod and you can still see somewhat of a shaky video. I did shook the camera a bit but from a scale from 1 to 10 I rate it a 5. You will be able to record nicely but you will need rock steady hands.

can you tell me one thing.. im having trouble with it.. i can usually work this out but.. how do i convert the files into wmv or something i can edit with movie maker and upload to youtube?.. basically how do i transfer the file to my computer and be able to play it?
@IAmLedsterOo As far as I can tell, you can edit your videos using Windows Movie Maker Live, I have Windows 7, but if you are using a Mac you can use iMac. Now, if you need instructions on how to get your videos out of the camcorder, you can find the path where they are saved checking out my how to upload video. But you can buy a HD editing video like PowerDirector *I use it*, Sony Vegas, Corel's Video Studio to change the videos formats, or just search for a free converter, let me know.
I am glad you put this video up. I was wondering what the uxp mode would look like. I just bought Studio HD ultimate. So now it is time to figure that out. Camera says can not burn to dvd when things are filmed in UXP mode. Any other issue when in this mode? IE: uploading to YouTube?
@xxsekoxx I haven't find any problems with it under this mode. It might not be able to record to DVD with the burner model that JVC supplies. I just bought Cyberlink's PowerDirector 8 and I have Nero 10 no problems recording.
Was a little dissapointed to see 25fps interlaced 1920x1080 video in Vegas editing. Blend fields didn't produce best result, INTERPOLATE FIELDS got me better result.....
1920x1080 has nothing to do with whether it's interlaced or not. the "p" stands for "progressive;" the "i" stands for "interlaced."
It's 1080i at 29.976 interlaced frames per second. Each frame displays two sets of interlaced fields at a resolution of 540. It phases quickly to give the illusion of a single still frame. It's not progressive. Believe me, I wish it were.
It's 60 sets of interlaced fields (60 sets of lines that make an image). You could say it's 60 fps, but that gives the wrong impression. You could also render the video in 60 fps, but you'd loose image quality. You could also render the video in cinematic standard 24 fps out of a pre-rendered 60 fps, which is what I like to do.
You could cheat the system by recording in 1/30 shutter speed so that the the two sets of interlaced fields come together to make a single frame so it would be 1080p.
can you please tell me what you did to get the .mts file on youtube? did you transcode? what app? i can use PPro CS3 + MainConcept plugin, but I'd rather have an easier process...
I was using the tripod, but 1) I got shaky hands, so when ever I turned it my hands shook it, and 2) The tripod's tightening knobs were tricky to use, so they were a bit tight. And 3) I was trying to keep up with the bees LOL.
