On all ur jumps you need to keep up the momentum and move back in ur jumps because right now they're just going up and down not travelling at all when you fell it was because you werent moving back so you fell in on your circle hope this helps keep skatingall
dude, we didn't really need to know about your groin injury. So next time you make a video, leave out the details to save embarassment. Or do you have no social graces?

@EmmzieGurl lol no worries. To keep it simple, jumps either have an edge or toe-assisted take-off. In this video, up until the 2:45 mark, all jumps take-off by vaulting from a toe-pick. Around 2:45 I do a double loop, in which I jump from my edges. Around 3:40 mark I do an axel with a double loop, and both jumps take-off from the edge of the blade....no toe-picks to vault me up in the air. Hope that helps explain things.
@iceprincccess thanks! I skated for 10 years up until 2001/2002. I quit skating and returned during summer 2009 after eight years away. I now skate a few days per week, and hope to get back to doing up to triple loop. We'll see how the next few months go :-)
@TheInsideEdge1 Thanks so much. The axel bothers me the most but once I'm warmed up enough I feel much better. I just hope I heal soon so I can get back to working on spins.
Thank you so much...very nice of you :) It's getting easier with each week into this return. Lets just hope the double axel practice goes well. I have a feeling those won't look so easy for a bit hahaha
@bibi24 yes I have a coach that I work with on a weekly basis. She is wonderful and has been instrumental in helping me get back into skating shape. I owe a lot to her for helping me get my confidence back, and she has really helped correct little things I wouldn't necessarily notice on my own.
And thanks. I'm very happy with my progress so far. 8 years away is a long time, and I'm happy to make it back as far as I have so far :)
Hope you're better now. I remember being off the ice for 4 months - back in 1978 (Yes, I'm old now!!!) and it really is a pain not being able to skate. Just one thing though, be careful with your injury, esp if your doing double loops in combo, I'm sure you know how much pressure the second loop take off puts on the joints.
@npe1 Thanks. I'm feeling a bit better. Cannot do most spins right now due to my leg, but jumps feel fine. I'm doing physical therapy to strengthen my groin, and also repair the scar tissue in my left leg that is causing ths stiffness. And yes, the loop combinations def cause tear on the hip/joints, so we'll see if I need to lay off the combos for a few weeks.
@larmaki not sure what you mean. Are you asking if I created it? If so...no, I did not. If you're asking how it's done, you do the axel jump and rather than checking out the free-leg for the landing, you hold it in and immediately jump up into the loop jump. When you see skating on TV, most skaters will do a DOUBLE axel/double loop combination. I'm not there yet :)
If you check out my 03-03-10 video, at the 4m50s mark you can see a clean jump combination. It requires speed and quickness.
What rink is this? It's so tiny! You have good technique on the 2flip. It's great that you are coming back after all the time off. Good luck on your testing goals.
@danasuperstar It's a rink here in LA. I only skate at it on Saturday's because it's quiet. I usually skate at the big rink (seen on my 03-03-10 video) once or twice a week, which is good since I'll eventually have a program to practice with. Plus the bigger rink is my former full-time training spot, so I'll probably be there more once I ramp up towards competing.
Thanks. It's slowly healing, and I'm making progress back to where I should be at this point in terms of skating skills. Hopefully the next few weeks go well.

halo, you are a very standard skater
here some tips for you
I can really tell you have the passion on ice skating
and your jumps are fine , trust me, all the moves are very standard
but try to get more speed before take off, more throw on the jump
make a solid rotation and try to feel every edges and moves of ice skating
but not just doing the correct technique, melt with the ice, feel the edges.
These are my feeling how I landed all triples. Good luck ;)

@airkid
and also, one more thing
on the take off of your 2 lutz
try to not use too much of your upper body rotate into the air
but bend down more on your leg, feel the outside edge
toe it really really lightly

Do you still consult a coach since your comeback? Or do you pretty much learn on your own now?
Congrats on your comeback it is a great dream!
