  • This is the type of music we need to preserve. It's our heritage...a bit of the Scots-Irish hill immigrants remain in the tale-telling, but came out of the hills uniquely American. So glad to see bluegrass making a resurgence! Who says we have no culture to be proud of?

  • what does this song even mean? Can someone who actually knows help me?

  • @BillyRDBlakey This is my thought.... I think has to do with your guy/girl cheating on you. "If you catch another mule kickin in your stall" aka if you catch someone else in bed with your lady

  • @adamschmidt88 I agree!! acoustic rules so does out of doors...

  • How does the hat jump from his head to the ground and back throughout the song?

  • you know that they are only 20 they are incredible

  • anyone else realize when he bends down to play fiddle he has a cowboy hat and when he gets back up it gone? ha

  • @stevekeller62 yeah the hat comes and goes throughout the video. thats hilarious.

  • The bass player looks a lot like Harold on the Red Green show in this video.

  • the hillbillyness of the mandoline guy doesn't effect the music:) joking, this is so great!

  • Skinny little picken turds, love this shit!!

  • This really is great, my favorite kind of music. Old Crow is one of the best bands to come around in as long as I can remember. They stay true to the old tyme tradition while bringing a new sound to the genre.

  • is the guy singing the main parts is he willie watson?? wow he looks so different if it!! i like his hair better short!!

  • FUCKIN' RIGHT!!!!

  • great stuff damn they look young here would love to have this dvd

  • Willie Watson is my hero I think.

  • I'm in love with him....and I'm a *straight* guy!

  • @ DancesWithLlamas~ one of the most profound statements I've heard in a while.

    cheers

  • This is the kind of music that we need... preserving the beautiful folk and traditional music. The corporate media and music machine seek brainwash us into being collectively influenced by one or a few music genres. The music of true spirit and soul come from this kind of music.

  • I couldn't agree more. I'm so fed up with people listening idiotic, dumbing down music like Nickelback.

  • Yeah, I used to like "alternative" rock, and now I'm even ashamed to say it...that music is the most depressing, soulless pile of bull excrement ever to have been stamped by the corporate machine. I sincerely believe there is something very wrong with that kind of music - especially the "emo" music genres. Every dude I've ever met who listens to that shit has turned completely fem. Everything about that music is the castration of our spirit.

  • I know exactly what you mean, but dont drag emo into it. If you look up what emo actually is (protip: emo bands were around in the late 80s and early 90s, there are hardly any in existence now) you'll see it's got just as much soul as OCMS have, even if its not your cup of tea.

  • Wow that's pretty heavy! I just think emo's a phase that some peeps need to go thru.

  • Music, like everything else, is subjective. What holds meaning to you, or I, may be empty and soulless to someone else. That being said, I love music like this. I was raised on a mix of, American roots music, like this, punk rock, and rock a billy.

  • @DancesWithLlamas

    nicely said!!!

  • This music is essentally skiffle, you do all realise that I hope.

  • And the problem is ?????? I dont see any homemade instruments so it dont match the diffenition of skiffle , call it what you want but it is musice just the same and i like it !

  • @jojorodeo13 Who said there was a problem????? I wasn't! I also wasn't aware that "homemade instruments" was a mandatory componant to the definition of skiffle. And I don't just "like it"....I LOVE IT....it makes me dance around my kitchen :-)

  • @DancesWithLlamas Sure is a true statement, you should check out the doc "Before the Music Dies" which can be found here on youtube,

  • @DancesWithLlamas when you use the word brain wash and coperations you sound like a crazy hippy, now i agree with yopu, but just for refrance

  • @DancesWithLlamas youre dumb....sorry

  • @ryanofdeath NO UR DUMB

  • @tractorkid223 Ya....definitely not. If you had half a brain you'd recognized the bias opinion with which that comment was written....but you're an idiot like 3/4th of all other commenters on youtube. *sigh*

  • Now this is what i call music doesnt get much better than this

  • I just love watching this video because Ketch looks sooooooooooooooooooooooo drunk... A little too much moonshine I would suspect!

  • helllllll yeah. thats good tunes.

  • Renfro Valley, KY. It says so in the info for the video.

  • saw the show at the majestic... WOW!

  • damn good music

  • Makes me want to cluck around out in the dad blasted yard with the chickens. Lord this is what I'm talking about....hell yea

  • This is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is my favorite song of theirs...would really like to see them tear it down live

  • I've seen them 3 times and i love them! I saw them at thr Ryman in Nashville on New Years this year, they put on the best show i've ever seen. Better than ac/dc, billy currington, sugarland, and even kenny chesney and toby keith! They're just great.

  • i wanna see more from this show - it's real authentic

  • is it just me, or does willie look like val kilmer in this vid

  • @cdphatty You are so right! I think willie is a damn chameleon, he looks totally different in a lot of his videos. Wilie rocks !

  • The look on the lady's face at 2:40 is priceless, like she's just awestruck! I love it!

  • good call. i love it. Saw these guys play at Delfest back on memorial day weekend. nearly lost my shit. soooo good

  • I think I'd be the same!

  • @CaseyLovesBrightEyes so true! my expression exactly

  • @CaseyLovesBrightEyes i know right. that dude standing in front of her looks like he just had a few bumps

  • hell ya tear it down! are there any other songs from this show out there?

  • Dunno how I noticed this but I think a hat gets added to the fiddle player between 0:50 and 0:55

  • And he's losin it at 1:00 again. Funny...

  • HOLY CRAP!

  • ya thats crazy huh

  • Interestingly, yes... hmm...

  • you noticed it becuase you watched it

    it does

  • this really gives a kind of old feelin' like in the days people had respect for things

  • so much respect for things they wanted to tear them down. ;)

  • denvereddennis has shared a video with you on YouTube:

  • GREAT SOUND

  • very nice i have been around this music since i was borne and this is a favorite

  • You have to excuse me im from England so not up on much regarding this kinda music, have to say l really love it, this song has a raw edge along with raise a Ruckus, but l do feel this band as they have grown have lost that raw feel and have become more mainstream ( ducks as bricks are thrown) my question to the experts here who l hope might know what l mean could point me to a band that has that raw sound im looking for???

    Thanks in advance guys!!

    Steve, London

  • not exactly the same style...but check out railroad earth

  • Damn it, you ducked...haha. I gotta say this though. We all came from one atom....the big bang. And so all of us were created from one thing....be that God or the light. Now When bands go mainstream, I believe thats just because every soul can feel it....Usually... Unless your fighting it and just want to be different and take other rivers to find another fix.. Mainstream to me is just a heavy flowing river with many good vibes. They obviously enjoy making people feel good.

  • try looking up 'The Devil Makes 3' old number 7

  • Try the avett brothers.

  • yep Avetts are awesome as well really like their stuff

  • WOW

    Steve London

  • OH LAY IT DOWN!

  • ...funny seein mr. kinman in that circle
