Well with all hypnosis/nlp it does work a lot better if its in the persons native language. This way their brain is able to pick up a lot more. But just say you spoke a latin based language(spanish/french/italia­n) Then cause of the 1000s of words that cross over the brain will recognise them as being simular and derive some meaning from them.

But theres a lot more to NLP/hypnosis than just words. Body language and anchoring are a few more ways we can be controled/influenced.
