i haven't got much time to go through all of your stuffs however, most of the things you have done or your daily routines ever given you the thoughts of the same career in a new destination: japan or china perhaps, i like your vlogs but somehow some of which would give me the idea that you're man with a touch of feminities :)
I like your video and I agree with what you have said, when you said you get out what you put into it, outgoing you will have new opportunities. I lived in Daegu Korea for about a year and would like to go again I am Korean who was adopted by US parents and still seeking my biological parents hopefully I find them, thank you for your videos I enjoy them
I love your videos. As I mentioned on of your more recent ones, I am moving to Seoul this fall and have been watching your videos just to get an idea of what it will be like. I am sure I will enjoy it. Just like you, I love history and culture, so I look forward to seeing some of the places you've visited for myself. Thanks for sharing your experiences!
i still doesn't feel how it's like to live in korea...ahm can u speak korean??? or do koreans speak english fluently??? cuz i wanna live in korea...and i want to know a lot about the place....can u help me???
I look at living in Korea like living in a vacation. I went to Seoul for two weeks back in 2005. Everyday I did something new and still didn't get to experience everything the city had to offer. I watch ur videos and many other teachers in Korea. SimonandMartin, charlycheer, durkeeinkorea, ever4one, expatkerri, and busankevin It's interesting to see how everyone has different personalities and experiences things differently. Thank you for making ur videos. ur videos are informative and convince

Wow...I just found out about your channel and I love it! I'm Korean, but I just recently moved to Seoul from the States not to long ago after living there for over 10 years. Your vids are really informational, and it's great I can relate to some of the things you talk about in you vids. I'm glad I found about your channel.
Oh and do you live near Gangnam Station area? You don't have to answer that but those Media Poles are really recognizable since I live around there haha.
@6Wul0Won I'm glad that you're enjoying the videos! I don't live in Seoul, but in a city near Suwon. Gangnam is the easiest place for my wife and I to head into when traveling to Seoul, so we're always there.

Thanks again for a thought-provoking video. I especially enjoyed the "something special" and the video mail at the end. ~Kurt :-)
can i share your video with other internet users? :D i think your video is great, and it will be nice if other koreans get to know what korea is really like to other foreigners. oh, i'm korean by the way :)
I really wonder that too.."life in korea". I went there to my friend's house and stayed with her family! but still i don't know how it's like for foreigners! Great videos!
You said you find it difficult to asnwer the quesiton of "what's it like to live in korea", yet you've done a great job answering it with much interesting views. Your videos, all of them are very well created, and so entertaining to watch. Thanks for sharing them.
Steve! I love your vlogging and editing skills! You have become a master my friend. Not that I would expect anything less. Is there anything you can't do?! Oh yeah, sing. *giggle* Mwah!
qi, you haven't done any blog on politics or economical issues for a while. anything ticking you off thesedays? by da way, you showing more silly side of you. cool. me likey, yo.
@kahtoa Nothing really comes to mind. Being so removed from much of the turmoil in the US, I don't think it right to make any comments on events I don't see first hand. As far s the economy goes.. things are going well here.
Asia is the most fascinating place to visit or live in. I guess for me its the most different for a westerner. Even the Middle East has some parallels for the American or European traveler, but Asia is its own world.
Wow! Just wow! That was incredible. I liked how you spoke so eloquently and intelligently about Korea, and then spliced in the slice-of-life clips. Bravo.
I would have just answered, "It is like a Roman orgy."
But I think you may have had trouble getting those "slice-of-life" clips through YouTube guidelines.
Then again, I watched "Sexy Beast" on the plane and that line is stuck in my head.
To be serious, this is one of the best explanations about living abroad I have seen. Thanks.
@qiranger My Dutch friends found it a kind of heaven since when you get out of the Hotel, you have a 24 super market, restaurants, bars, cafes, clubs, arcades, shops, actually everything you want to have near you!
I guess you are going there for the same reason???
Your videos are always so interesting. Nice touch at the end. I thought..."what the heck is he doing?" LOL!! Then suddenly the light went on like a flash!
One thing I did notice is that you had to duck quite a bit to get into the bus and subways........is that because you are insanely tall or ....*probably sounds foolish*.......or are things built a tad different there *shorter*?
Ahh Steve - you'd enjoy anyplace because you'd always look for what was cool, what was interesting & what you could learn from. I'll bet you'd feel that way about anywhere you try & I'm fairly certain this isn't the last place you'll end up. I expect to see travel videos of you & Jo all over the world because that's where your curiosity & thirst for knowledge will take you. My Aunt is 92 and is trying to figure out how to get to see the pyramids in Egypt in a senior friendly way. She will too.
Great video. Kai and I just watched it :) I like what you said about Korea being what you make it. For the dolts who just get loaded every night, they miss out on so much. its always best to be active and explore as much as you can!
@BusanKevin Glad the two of you enjoyed it so much! We had a lot of fun this weekend and I thought it was a great way to finally get around to answer the question. Thanks for featuring the video. I can't wait to see your version.
That was great! ....Agree with what you said re: getting out what we put into it....My first trip abroad (Europe). A lot of fun & beauty + a lot if wisdom [l]earned. Can't buy those kind of life lessons. :oD
Looks like ya'll are having a great time over there...Thanks for showing us how they live and I am looking forward to seeing more videos ...have a good one!
Great video, thanks! I was wondering though, do you ever get worried about the North trying to start something? How do people in the South view the situation?
i like the this different style of video than you normally do, good job switching it up^^ i agree that it is hard to answer a question like that, i live in hawaii and constantly have people asking me what it is like to live here..but every sees it differently and experiences living here in different ways..thanks for the videos i really do enjoy watching them!
All I have to say is, you are a TALL man! I saw ducking to get into the train when most other people walked in with plenty of room between them and the top of the doorway.
How tall are you, Steve?Something Special, is it really? hahaha
I really enjoyed the video, thanks for posting. cheers mate : )
Their public transportation is way ahead of the states. The U.S. is too large for the people to embrace public transportation. Those kiosk with the large touchscreens would never be found in most U.S. cities because of crime. It's sad.
Does it feel like you are living another life out there? Not quite since you still have to pay your U.S. taxes lol.
Nice bit in the end! I totally agree with you on this topic. I ran across people (American expats and GIs) who decided to throw themselves in to the society & culture and enjoy their stay in Korea. I've also met people who hated their stay in Korea, and many of those people closeted themselves to a few typical expat hangouts.
As they say everyone's situation is different it all depends on who you are as a person the experience living there will most likely be a challenge against yourself because even though you may be shy or a home body you can't help but explore something new even if its just your town, you'll form new bonds and hopefully become more comfortable ,thats what I hope happens to me when I go anyways cause I love to travel and see new things but new people scare me a bit lol so kidish.
@FantasticBabblings The city is remarkably clean... My town is even cleaner. Things are a lit out of whack since typhoon rolled through, but they're starting to come around. The Subways are awesome here.
Nice video. I am hoping after this last year of University to go to South Korea. ^_^ I love to explore and learn so I hope I'll find a lot of enjoyment wherever it is I end up.
This is the first video I've watched from you. I must say it was really good. Well done on living in Korea. I wish I could manage such an achievement some time in my life.
@billyCtv Like everywhere, the vast majority of people welcome foreigners. There are some that are not so welcoming (as in every nation). I really enjoy living here.

The subway looks so clean. In fact everything looks clean compared to NY.
FantasticBabblings 1 year ago
@FantasticBabblings The city is remarkably clean... My town is even cleaner. Things are a lit out of whack since typhoon rolled through, but they're starting to come around. The Subways are awesome here.

@billyCtv Like everywhere, the vast majority of people welcome foreigners. There are some that are not so welcoming (as in every nation). I really enjoy living here.
