As for Aegis, Taiwan already has the Jangbaek radar and the missile systems which could be fitted in locally built modified commercial ships.

I think you'll find China has 76 Submarines, but 35 of those are former Soviet "Romeo" Class SSKs. Those things were useless in the 20th century, never mind the 21st :)
The rest of the fleet stays tied to thier peirs because they have no fuel to run them. If they do go out, they charge the batteries off of shore power, and take them out for as long as that lasts. They have 1 nuclear powered sub, the Xia, which is so hot it glows in the dark. China's navy is a joke. I'd put my money on these 2 boats vs the entire Chinese fleet any day.
