phelps' ankle is messed up. you can see that from the start he was really only kicking with one leg. thats the main reason. also on his backstroke turn, he kinda just cruised into the wall.

24.03 for Phelps? I'm a high school swimmer and I can swim that fast for a 50 free. The announcer even said Phelps averages 18 seconds for this event. How did he go that slow?

@kidsofjokes What are you talking about? Listen at 0:45 seconds! Given that is an exaggeration, but he is capable of 19's. The world record is in the 18 second range! Don't know where your getting your #'s. And I can swim a low 23 sec 50 free in YARDS, not meters (difference) at the age of 16. There are high school records of low 21 second 50 freestyle races. So don't you think a swimmer like phelps could beat a the best time from a high school in michigan? I think so. End of story

@JZandBCProductions if you've ever swam IM you would understand that the 50 free at THE END OF THE RACE is going to be slower than your flat start 50. my flat start 50 is a 22 low which isn't even that good but my 50 free at the end of my IM is a 27..its called getting fatigued moron.
