I will never ride between cars, if the road is too narrow i rather ride on pavement slowly until safe to join

People will happily disregard a cyclist approaching at 20mph, or simply step out in front of them. However, when that cyclist makes the sound of a somewhat larger-than-yours vehicle, people do tend to wake up and allow the cyclist to live another day. Courier work isn't usually as crazy as this video, but it's certainly not far off it. I always made sure to just how safe a red light was to cross before attempting it, though.
I used to be a bike messenger in this very same city. I can safely say that it's mostly motorists who cause this kind of behaviour. When there's a truck parked across the cycle lane, your place is at the front of all the traffic, and you have somewhere you were expected to be 10 minutes ago, you need to move fast, and you need to think on behalf of everyone around you.

I wouldn't care if it was just their lives they were putting at risk, but it's not: it's the shoals of pedestrians that they just expect to part in front of them - because, you know, they're cyclists and you're not - and, more directly, that pensioner who can't move fast enough.
they show *no* skill what so ever, clearly it's only by the reactions of others are they avoiding serious accidents as they cycle, and only just. Any experienced cyclist knows that shit happens in urban environments so you must cycle with a buffer zone for when a driver is not paying attention, a pedestrian runs out, etc, if you cycle like that with no room for error, you will actually die. @berry120 There are 3 times more uninsured drivers on the roads than cyclists in the UK, and drivers wonder why cyclists hate them? But anyway, these are couriers, a minority of cyclists and they were participating in a race, this is not a typical cyclist.

@smith34n There's bad cyclists and there's bad drivers - I have problems with both! Of course there's good examples of both as well which I haven't a problem with in the slightest, and I fully accept that this video is an extreme example of the bad kind. I only talk from personal experience especially around where I am, I've seen many more dangerous cyclists around than dangerous drivers. What annoys me most is that the police seem to completely ignore them! Not the cars though...!

I see nothing except a blatent disregard for the public highway and public safety. I also noted on many occasions, squeezing past buses in their blind spots and i will say, i hope that one day, the cyclists on the video feel the squeeze as they get rolled over because you obviously dont give a flying fook about anyone else but yourself.

I think people are missing the point somewhat here. This is a race for the benefit of the video. Of course these people don't cycle like this every day or they would be dead within a week. Needless to say even doing it just the once for the video is pretty irresponsible - not cool at all - but entertaining, I must admit, even if in the final analysis I agree with the guy shouting at the end.

I'm seventeen-years-old, and I cycle twenty miles in London every day, on a single-speed. I don't have a car. I think these people are idiots. I wouldn't care if it was just their lives they were putting at risk, but it's not: it's the shoals of pedestrians that they just expect to part in front of them - because, you know, they're cyclists and you're not - and, more directly, that pensioner who can't move fast enough.

they show *no* skill what so ever, clearly it's only by the reactions of others are they avoiding serious accidents as they cycle, and only just. Any experienced cyclist knows that shit happens in urban environments so you must cycle with a buffer zone for when a driver is not paying attention, a pedestrian runs out, etc, if you cycle like that with no room for error, you will actually die. Anyone thinking about copying this, don't, it's really not cool, it's criminal.

I was expecting a truck to emerge at speed and wipe out any one of these morons at any time! I enjoy cycling but there is something called responsible cycling. I cycle to work and try to comply with the law by using lights and cycling in the correct place. These morons give all cyclists a bad name. With behavior like this it is little surprise that cyclists have the reputation they do.
