this piece of ART (yes, it's art, as frank miller and all his people sacrificed a lot to make this film) involved much time and effort, so don't go dissing it just because it's not your cup of tea. this is all for entertainment-- there's no "sadistic" "evil" message behind it, trust me. frank miller is making a homage to the pulp-crime fiction comics of the 30s and 40s, using modern technology. it's art.
You people? I love how you people baaaw about the way someone chooses to tell a story of something that happens everyday. I have news for you sunshine, things like this are happening all over the world. Little girls are being raped by corrupt officials and members of their family, for example, and sometimes the only way to stand against it is violence. All Frank Miller has done is speak of the world the way it is, which is completely absent of the smiles and sunshine you would like to see.
If you don't like it, go and search for some Barney clips. No one is forcing you to watch or comment on this video. Take your little crusade for sunshine and joy elsewhere and leave the violent clips for those of us who are grown up enough to know better.
Oh dear is that what you really believe? That because evil exists in the real world (which the news makes us fully aware of) we should go to see it played out in fantasy Hollywood movies which they only make to entertain us.
For one, I believe that people should be free to enjoy what they want without judgment from overly moralistic riders of high horses, such as yourself. If this isn't to your taste, move on and find something that is. Your condescending commentary is not going to sway anyone to your side and only makes you look like an immature troll, out to rile people up.
Secondly, I believe that a good story has elements of real world.
That is why it is enjoyable, because people can relate to it. In the real world, people often have to resort to violence in the fight for what is right just as Mr. Willis' character did in this movie, and unfortunately, the good guy does not always win. The world is not smiles and sunshine, but people enjoy these violent movies, for one, because they can walk away with it at the end.
Do research into human history and find that violence and death is human nature, and is even in the Bible.
I am not going to turn from a good story because their is violence, and I'm certainly not going to point fingers and cry at people who do include violence in their stories. It's called being an adult. You should look into that.
Okay then. If you believe that enjoying sadistic and graphic violence is being mature, then that's about as mature as you will ever reach. Obviously it means alot to you.
Germanicelt, maturity has nothing to do with brutality in the cinema. Movies are art, some of it will be more contemporary, some more pulp-y, and others more violent.
And to appreciate these different forms of art, it takes someone with a mature perspective, which is clearly something you lack. So grow a pair and quit complaining just because you personally can get easily weak-willed and squeamish in the cinemas, okay? OK.

All these kind of movies are a cancer. Funny how people try to justify their craving for sadism and violence.

I agree. Sick violence.

Oh grow up. Violence has been a part of human culture since the beginning of time, and can even be seen in the Bible.

But not the gratification of violence in media. I love the way you people always try to justify this stuff.

You can justify anything by putting the term "art" on to it.
