OMG, I bought my inspire on ebaY virtually "brand new," and got it in the mail this afternoon. To be honest, I don't even think the seller ever used it. First time EVER, I opened the battery compartment and butchered it... just has what looks like a tiny dent now because I used a screwdriver. That's how annoyingly hard it was and bent my nail back a few times in the process. Hahahaha..!! Found your HELPFUL video and wanted to say thank you. I tried your suggestion and it works perfectly!

I absolutely hate this phone. It freezes all the time, then they make the battery door almost impossible to take off. One of the worst purchases I have ever made. If you are thinking about getting it, I recommend you look for a different phone. I am trading mine for an iphone 4 over craigslist.

This battery cover was designed to make me hate myself. i finaly finished rooting it and i just installed cyanogen mod 7 but i forgot to wipe cache and data so now its stuck booting up if i could only remove to the battery to go back into recovery. i now have to wait untill it drains itself for 11 hours.

I tried everything I could think of, I had to watch this video to figure out how to get the battery out (very useful!), blew in the compartment, and now it's back on. THANK YOU. I FINALLY GOT THE BATTERY DOOR OPEN!! I've been SO scared to even try hard enough because I was scared I'd damage the phone itself. But once I tried prying off that one corner, it came out like nothing! Tip: if you don't wanna scratch your phone or ruin the battery door area as you try to open it up, I suggest covering your thumb with a cloth or some cotton material as you open it. I simply covered my thumb with my shirt then walah! no damage, door opened.

personally didn't find this useful on HTC Desire HD, cos battery cover was so tight,NO ROOM 4 thumbnail.

TRY THIS INSTEAD if the video doesn;t help you...

1. put ur thumbnail below the VOLUME ROCKER, and dig in and pop out the cover. theres more space there & it worked 4 me. even tho its not conventional, i did it within 2 seconds after spending over 2 hours trying 2 do it da normal way
