Intek CB Radio - German Skip 09/06/2007

I need advice from CB'ers familiar with either central Germany and the Costa del Sol region of southern Spain. I live in Germany (Heidelberg) with very weak German language skills and travel often to southern Spain with no significant Spanish language skills. If I were to buy a CB radio, would I find anyone, in either place, willing to communicate with me in English? In other words, would a CB radio purchase be worthwhile or a complete waste of money? Thanks.
