Being a school sponsored house, can you have fun at your place (ie. bring friends over, girlfriend(s) etc.? or do you have to keep a squeaky clean profile when you are chilling in there?
Peter, who is the guy in the video, survived on less than that and actually saved money but he IS unusual. He shared a house for low rent, ate a lot of street food (his cast iron stomach helped there), didn't have a car, and had a great time doing it all.

$500 is extremely low and wouldn't interest foreigners to move there.

@spanishmoonstar The cost of living is also extremely low, so some foreigners do like to move there for the adventure.
