Im a cadet in the CAP i joined bout 4 or 5 months ago... i got a question.... i have to move to another squadron soon, will you have to retake the tests and everything?
@AFutureMarine1 I don't know exactly how it works but I'm pretty sure you keep your current grade and you don't have to retake all the tests. I think they just have to transfer your records to your new one.

@airsoftkid65 yes. To wear the BDU's you should at all time present a military appearence, with keeping respect to all of those who have worn the BDU's in the services. Also, you should always iron, starch, and crease the BDU's, so they look nice. and polish boots. Same go's for the blues. A military haircut looks better, but has long has your hair is short and 1/4 of an inch above the ear (you real don't notice it) its good. Big hair punches out with a straight utility cap or flight cap.

What we do is surely something to be proud of. All us Civil Air Patrol cadets are no ordinary kids/teens. We're more courageous and disciplined than your average kid. We actually stand for something. Just out of curiosity what does the civilian air patrol do i dont see a plane like that doing anything against even smallarms fire. Is the civilian air patrol just for training?
The Civil Air Patrol does most of the Air Force's Search and Rescue missions. Kids can join and participate in the Search and Rescues missions and they can learn leadership skills, both for military and civilian use.
So, I haven't been in CAP for years, left because i can't take incompetence from the troop leader, but i need to give back all my stuff still, white gloves, big ass belt, but it was fun, not just because we got around, but all of it, winter hawk, hawk mountain, pt, helping out, everyone seemed to enjoy one part or another, its a really fun program and i miss it =/
Im thinking about joining, but i have a problem. Im not sure if this will affect my ski season. Im on a freestyle ski team and I cant really miss those trips. Can someone help me out?
CAP is optional. You can miss a few meetings and activity's if needed, but you dont wanna miss to many. More you go to, more credit you get, more rep you get, more ranks you get.

you don't no what the gulf wars are and still is, im going to skip that and tell you what i would have done, since you asked.
1] don't disband the Iraq army or police force. this would have stopped the civil unrest.
2] don't invade in the first place saddam hated AL qaeda moor than you.
3]put a much larger force into afghanistan with moor recce forces.
4] set up o.p. along the boarder with Pakistan.

first of all good day you arrogant little shit, second I'm ex parachute engineer did 12 years plus some overtime. Ive done Bosnia, Serbia, gulf war one, peace keeping in Africa,private work on the circuit, and if you read my post instead of wanking you would see I'm in favour of the young people of the air reserve.

Ive 12 years exemplary service with 2 para 9 sd royal engineers [para], detachment to 22 sas ect ect.
but I'm treated like a rag head with a bomb.
every time there is a bit of trouble you shut up shop and no one come in, we lost 2,500 service men killed in northern island over 35 years and still we let the buggers into our country.

i trained marines in golf war 2 in enemy weapons and tactics, i cant even apply for a green card, that's why i think you kind of have a problem with us.

if u have a problem please dont use my videos comment space to handle it. The members of the Civil Air Patrol (including myself) are proud of what we do. If you dont want to consider us heros in any manner that is your right but I wonder if you would be willing to say that to the people whose lives have been saved by our brave members (both senior and cadet)

Let me correct myself. Some members of CAP have done great things and may in fact be heroes. However, for you to call YOURSELF a hero is not exactly the most tasteful thing in the world to say. I just think it's arrogant to be your own hero...

ive been in Cap since june and i am just about to get my 3rd stripe. And to me, it doesn't matter what they do, don't down-talk any one military based, cadets or not. we have to represent CAP in the best possible manner, and that gets us negativity with the public, they might think we are disrespectful punks. also watch you mouths too cadets.
