Is it possible for this to be done under a sedative vs normal local antithetic? I'm kinda a wimp when it comes to dental work and this looks kind of extreme.
@carpii yes, you can have any type of teeth in your mouth with this system. in general, it is done by specialists. after this surgery the patient had a definitive crown placed after 4 months. thank you for your comments!
I'm thirteen, and although every surgery video makes me want to puke, dental videos like this are amazing to watch and don't gross me out at all. Maybe I was meant to be a dentist. Funny, that.
If you're interested in dental implants, the best option for you is to come to our clinic "Lorenzana dental center" located in El Salvador, is an option for you to get this type of procedure at a lower cost and also you get the opportunity to enjoy all the beautiful things that this amazing country has to offer. well i,am having hardcore work done,'an the screws going in,roots/teeth being pulled,no pain. It's afterwards,on the way home, where,i whimper in agony.
HOWEVER,i dunno what the hell this dude dentist is doing.
Done properly, when a screw is put in,then one waits, in my case 4 months,3 minimum, that is to give the screw(s) and jawbone time to bond,as one basically.
is it me or is is creepy how this painful bloody experience has such beautiful music soft piano. Its like Hannibal Lector doing something crazy and listening to Opera
@classicjuice It's painful to watch if you don't know what is going on. I am a 7 year experienced Dental Surgical Assistant; we do these all day long. The issue for most people watching it is the placement of the implant. My question to the Doctor in the video is, what kind of implant did you use? I have never seen one of that material, we use Zimmer Dental implants, which I believe are titanium if I am not mistaken.
Wow that thing goes in SO DEEP INTO THE BONE! I'm considering becoming a dentist. I'm really liking the mix between construction, crafting and health. I always liked creating stuff with legos as a child, and making crafts with clay and stuff, and always loved when we studied the human body in science class. Dentistry is for me ... right?
@netszk that was only the temporary crown. Once the implant is firmer in the bone, they'll put on the permanent crown which will look just like a perfect real one that they'll be able to bite on just like normal!
man. it is amazing how we learn to do this type of stuff. can you imagine what the first people had to deal with when these procedures were still new and we were still learning. I mean I know we are still learning now, but it is still amazing how far we've come.
Just had one done, A1 job dont care how much it costs i would NEVER have dentures the temporary one i had to endure for 6months was bloody awful, i recommend implants to anyone 10/10
i have the EXACT same procedure in three days only it is the right lateral incisor...man that extraction was insane i never knew the hole was that big! well its worth it with the permanent implant and all
the extraction didn't hurt at all. but when they he started drilling ugh! yeah that was very uncomfortable...i was on local anesthetic so he constantly had to inject the deeper he went...but bearable :)
hello i'm a 15 year old boy who just started to care about his teeth there rather yellow nothing like the teeth show in this video, is there anything you would recomend to get them white other than cleaning twice a day??
you do realize you learn dentistry in dental school (a 4 year doctoral program, which is usually followed by a residency if one choose to do so) following 4 years of undergrad?
It doesn't :) The hole is done to the skull, where it doesn't hurt. Most likely the patient will only have a small inflammation for 2-3 days near the area of meat caused by the "injury". The actual pain "exists" while making the hole and placing the implant. Nice video!
I think I am going to get this done to one of my back teeth. I have a temp cap that has been there for some years now and it was never finished now the cap is giving me problems and it is really bothering me. I'm going to get them whole tooth and cap removed and then get an implant.
i've not seen zirconian implants in the literature. how long has it been around? i think ceramic types have been used in other parts of the body. Ti is the only material i know to be used in jaw bone. are you a board certified O.S. in the US?
the way he made the temporary tooth wans't proffesional and it'll take alot of time, instead there is a whole kit that comes with all teeth shapes and sizes u just fill it with composite and put it on
you are either looking at the brown color of non vital root (which turns dark with years)or you see the metal of the crown. Metal free solutions in the front area should be a requirement.
i got some question if anyone can answer me please. i got my the 4th tooth on the top its broken only the roote is inside im thinkin of gettin an implant done but do they have to remove the roote all of it cause ive seen some videos they just remove a pice of it like half of it the pallet oote and then they put the implant . how long does it take for an implant to get done ive heard it can be done for 6 months is it true ? and how painfull is it ?
What type of materil was used for the implant? It is not your average 94% Zr 4% Yt, right? It is some new hybrid ZrO2 with Al oxide added, correct? The common ZrO2 used in dentistry has around 1200Mpa and I believe I read that your material was near, or over 2000MPa. Any tests with staining the material so it's not snow white? Is this milled from a pre-sintered piece, or milled from a hardened sintered material, or isostatically pressed into this shape and not milled at all?
dentsits have to study for 5 year and a further 2 for oral surgery!
There is a lot more to it then it looks! You have to know that the materials are, how they work and why...they have to kn owabou tinfextion, the bine the bady in genral, a lot harder then you would imagine! I know i am a dental Nurse.
In Australia its a further 8 years of study to be an oral and maxillofacial surgeo. After that you spend most of your time doing implants and pulling out wisdom teeth which general dentists can (and do) do anyway!
And I wish that general dentists would stop! Sorry, after 21 years as an OMSA I've seen far too many aborted extraction efforts...they usually get referred to our oral surgery office at 4:45 on Friday!
omg man, i feel bad for you. even though they put you on some kind of anesthetic (im hoping). i bet you could still feel some of the stuff that was going on. did it hurt at all??? and why didnt they put you to sleep????
I had it done when I fractured my tooth. I was totally asleep and dont remember a thing and there was only pain for a few weeks. After 4 months I got my crown, it is definatly hard to watch but not to go through!
well I would say the reason dentists cost so much is because they have to do 8 years of college costing about 200k in tuition. I would blame it on the schools, why does it cost so much to learn to do something that helps people?
My teeth are in the poor state they are in today, because or the huge prices dentists charge. Let's look at what they do, its nothing any more than the work I do as an electrician, except I get paid in two weeks the same amount it costs for one implant that takes one hour. I am considering to do my own implants to prove there is no mystery in dentists techniques. Why so expensive for such a short job. I put bolts into concrete walls every day and get paid peanuts to do so, what's the difference?
there are no titanium screws in this treatment. This is a complete metal free treatment. the definitive crown is generally placed 2 months after the surgery.
Would the patients bone have lapped onto the implants within only 2 months? I'm under the impression that it takes upto 4 ~ 6 months before attempting a crown cementation.
why dident you use, a policarbon temporaly tooth, making it from resin seems not a great esthetic result, and it seem more work, isent there a temporaly cilinder to make the temporal tooth?
As a critique I would say that technique in this video could have been better if implant inclination would have been more lingualized. Soft tissues after a few monthes in this case might have given some trouble, it would be nice to se the final restoration after a complete oseointegration
Interesting. Zirconia has been used even for bridges instead of metal since a few years. I wonder if oseointegration is as good as it is with titanium. It would be a very nice alternative in anterior implants.
Thanks! Success rate is around 97%. The strength of this implants is impresive! ISO 13356 regulates the chemical and mechanical properties of zirconia implants. With ISO 14801 the mechanical test of implants show that there are any breaking of implants when mechanically loaded at an angle of 30º with 550 Newtons x 5 MILION times. Patients just love it!!!
Fantastic result but are success rate for zirconia implants? Is the tesnsile strength up to the challenge of mastication? Will look forward to your comments!
Nice video.

why dident you use, a policarbon temporaly tooth, making it from resin seems not a great esthetic result, and it seem more work, isent there a temporaly cilinder to make the temporal tooth?

As a critique I would say that technique in this video could have been better if implant inclination would have been more lingualized. Soft tissues after a few monthes in this case might have given some trouble, it would be nice to se the final restoration after a complete oseointegration

Interesting. Zirconia has been used even for bridges instead of metal since a few years. I wonder if oseointegration is as good as it is with titanium. It would be a very nice alternative in anterior implants.

I'd be lying if I said that the power-drill into the gums didn't make me hurt.
Interesting video, still.
