I always get annoyed with how this fight ended, it looked like Dooku bent over on purpose just to allow Anakin to cut his arms off. But I still think this Anakin vs. Dooku fight was much better than the Episode 2 fight, that one was film as bad as a Christopher Nolan fight scene.

@Quidiffer Well Dooku was REALLY trying to separate Obi-Wan from Anakin the whole fight so he could try to seduce him even more to the dark side without Obi-Wan's interference so he put more effort into doing this (Eg. force choke and pushing Obi-Wan) before actually focusing on Anakin....AND to be fair Obi-Wan DID have the high ground advantage when he beat Anakin later on

He lost because he wasn't fighting to kill Anakin. Palpatine and him had a plan, bring Anakin to the Dark Side. Also, Dooku never had a feeling of danger because his master was beside them, ready to save him if he was in trouble. All that, + a tip Dark side Anakin = OWNED

This lightsaber duel here of Anakin and Dooku is reminiscent of the last phase of Darth Vader(Anakin) and Luke Skywalker duel in ROTJ....its funny how Lucas repeats some of the same scenarios in each film,if watch all 6 films closely.
Lucas has the time, money, and means to create digital worlds, alien species, render digital doubles and limbs for live action characters, and painstakingly paint the blades on every frame with a lightsaber.
So why is it he won't fix the lip-synch on a redubbed line?
It was stupid how Dooku died. As the leader of the Confederacy basically he was much more beneficial to the Republic alive rather than dead. He was a Jedi Master that death, no execution did not suit him. Anakin should have respected him more than that. He does it so easily. Stares him in the face and just lops off his head.
@FUSION011235 He was only available for a day, so that is why he had such a short part. But, yeah, they didn't need to trim any of his scenes like they did.
Obi-wan does not show a hint of pain when a ton of steel drop on his legs, but grunts rather loudly when he is knocked down on the ground by Dooku's force.

Anakin got double the revenge but that wasn't enough he needed to finish him off with 2 lightsabers which he tried and failed to do in attack of the clones.

@AzzaBoi95 Does it scare you Christoper Lee filmed this scene when he was like 80 years old? Is it a lie that he is that old? What does he eat man. He probably would've been a more convincing Anakin leading to Darth Vader had he been about 50 something years younger, but Hayden did good.
Lee has professional level skills in fencing so he knows what he is doing. He doesn't actually need strenuous training because he is already a skilled fencer to begin with.

Sidious have no defeated yoda, he was just more lucky and had better grip, if yoda did not fall down or they fought and stable ground he would kick his ass.

Dooku is the single best evil character in the saga. I know Sidious is more 'intriguing' in terms of his identity and alter egos etc, but lets face it, Darth Tyranus (coolest Sith name also) was the most charismatic of all the Sith Lords. Maul was just a dog let off a leash; Sidious is interesting but at times so selfish and sly you can't stand him - Tyranus is a fallen Jedi MASTER. Makashi Master, Jedi for 7 decades and Sith Lord for at least 13 years. He was an idealist and a smooth criminal!

@ThePalaeontologist, For all of the flaws in the prequels, at least the Sith were actually powerful and deadly foes. Many times villains are just obstacles for the hero's to beat up. Yet Dooku has owned Obi-Wan twice, cut off Anakin's arm and even held his own against Yoda. Not to mention he fought all three of them back to back.

Now, Dooku was known to have a penchant for humiliating the popular (ironic as I mean both in the story and the real world) Jedi when he was one, using grace and style to slaughter the heavy handed and clumsy attacks of others - Dooku was so good he even said this to other Jedi MASTERS, criticising Obi Wan Kenobi in particular in this duel (original cut)...and Obi is ace tbh

@ThePalaeontologist I totally agree with that his stupidity was his downfall, however, without his stupidity he would of become the strongest Force user/Dark Lord Of The Sith in history and the Jedi would of been completely obliterated. His rebellious nature is ultimately what brought balance to the Force, he was never fully obedient of Darth Sidious and contemplated killing him right from the start (check his speech with Padme before the Obi Wan fight). Classic tragic hero

Essentially Dooku did not want to kill the Jedi Order to the last, it is said he actually wanted to convert the Jedi Order into a Dark Jedi/Sith Lord Army of Terror and Destruction. Another matter, is his 'stupidity'. Well, in fairness if Sidious was not around, he would be the smartest force user ever...but Sidious was a shade smarter. Dooku = 10/10
@ThePalaeontologist It's actually really stupid how powerful Dooku was portrayed in the second movie, and is killed within 10 minutes in the third movie.. His finesse and knowlegde of the Force makes him stand out whether compared to a Jedi or a Sith Lord. I guess part of the reason for his sudden demise is to emphasize Anakin's alarming aggressiveness and growth in the Force.. but then the way Obi Wan equals him to the point of frustration is a bit inconsistent in my opinion.

Anakins alarming growth is the reason yes, but it could have been pulled off far better. Oh but Obi Wan is the one who beat Anakin...its that old row. Still I know what you mean. Basically, Dooku was one of the few force users alive who could compromise Obi Wans mastery of Soresu via sheer skill of alternate skills and powers. Obi was a GREAT Jedi, tbf.
@ThePalaeontologist And thinking about it makes sense, Makashi is all about energy-saving, quick and accurate attacks while Vader's super aggressive Form V is about a crazy load of insane attacks and while Anakin's fitness isnt put into question, probably watching all his attacks fail pushed him into frustration. Cant help but imagine that Mace Windu's Vaapad form would've been perfect for Vader; it would've allowed him to FULLY exploit his anger and frustration making him nearly invincible.
@sgjuniordk Oh Makashi Form II is my all time favourite Form of lightsaber combat. Its just beautiful in the right hands - Dooku being its most masterful of masters ever. However, though I get what you mean about Vader, I think theres still a lot to be said about why Dooku lost onboard The Invisible Hand; I am very sure that Dooku was double tricked by Sidious in the planning, into fighting poorly to allow Skywalker to 'win'...but then have Sidious rush in to 'save' Dooku. Sidious lied to Dooku.
@ThePalaeontologist Yes,just hate how Lucas left us with more questions than answers..the Clone Wars series do explain a lot of things, and Dooku did wanted to kill Sidious at some stage as well.Being more of an idealist and a gentleman, Dooku as you said never wanted to destroy the Jedi and prior to the Geonesis battle, he does give a speech on destroying the Sith alongside Kenobi. whether it was a trap or not is debatable , Dooku was proof that neither Jedi nor Sith have all the answers..
@sgjuniordk Oh definately. Kenonbis is iconic and my favourite Jedi Master saber. But as for ex-Jedi and Sith Lord Saber, Dookus is just in a league of its own. Curved is best, as or Makashi. The hilt guard is just great. I have drawn Dooku's lightsaber a few times. Made a few curved hilts of my own designs based on it. Well, if it has that much of an influence it must be a quality lightsaber haha

Coincidentally, I'm sure, Dooku's duels with Anakin foreshadow Anakin / Vader's with son Luke - Dooku cuts off Anakin's forearm / Vader cuts off Luke's hand. Anakin cuts off Dooku's hands and head (in the presence of Palpatine) / Luke cuts off Vader's hand (in the presence of Palpatine) and head (on Dagobah).

Darth Plagueis's unnatural arts of the darkside experiments basically 'created' Skywalker from the force...which is why Sidious killed Plagueis for fear of being replaced, and Sidious set in motion such mind bogglingly complex events to find and dominate the Chosen One. Essentially Dooku represents not only the older generation of fallen Jedi, but a major part of Anakins.....

It has no bearing, as Dooku, the Count of Serenno, was still a Jedi Master during the time of Episode I, even if a very maverick fgure in the Jedi Temple. He wouldn't do that..Anakin is an exception. Dooku was still bearing many Jedi traits even in death, and one of the ones he upheld was celibacy - he had an apprentice Komari Vosa expelled for living him.

Obi-wan does not show a hint of pain when a ton of steel drop on his legs, but grunts rather loudly when he is knocked down on the ground by Dooku's force.

You Are Able to subvert the essence of the noble Jedi, Which was held in the old trilogy, turning into idiots Them, similar to Power Rangers. The Jedi concept is massively degradeted in all Aspects, including in combat so ridiculed the crude cartoon of Saturday morning. And still kills Sir. Cristopher Lee...

Lee has professional level skills in fencing so he knows what he is doing. He doesn't actually need strenuous training because he is already a skilled fencer to begin with.

Dooku is the single best evil character in the saga. I know Sidious is more 'intriguing' in terms of his identity and alter egos etc, but lets face it, Darth Tyranus (coolest Sith name also) was the most charismatic of all the Sith Lords. Maul was just a dog let off a leash; Sidious is interesting but at times so selfish and sly you can't stand him - Tyranus is a fallen Jedi MASTER. Makashi Master, Jedi for 7 decades and Sith Lord for at least 13 years. He was an idealist and a smooth criminal!

@Nemesis0300 Well, I know where you are coming from, and don't get me wrong I love all Star Wars in general including Grievous and Maul, but I simply cannot ignore Dooku' superior qualities. Lucas has had a far far more personal role in both Revenge of the Sith (of course) and now the newer 3D Clone Wars line. As Lucas has a notoriously unfair rule of the roost and often spoils things in edits, only rarely does he listen to anyone - eg originally Dooku was going to beg for his life,until...

@Nemesis0300 ...luckily the veteran Actor SIR Christopher Lee spoke out to say it was out of Dooku's character to beg vocally for his life. Imagine if Lucas got his way? He still managed to turn both Grievous and Dooku into incompetent weaklings....I know Maul is flashier and more 'BADASS', but what I mean is that Dooku has a touch of class that is just so damned quaint and admirable. He was a really, really, really clever guy - in fact THE only smarter guy was Sidious (a fatal matter for Dooku)

@ThePalaeontologist, For all of the flaws in the prequels, at least the Sith were actually powerful and deadly foes. Many times villains are just obstacles for the hero's to beat up. Yet Dooku has owned Obi-Wan twice, cut off Anakin's arm and even held his own against Yoda. Not to mention he fought all three of them back to back.

@Nemesis0300 Maul essentially represents a pure animal - which Dooku himself is quoted to have said, 'Maul was an animal'. Now, Dooku was known to have a penchant for humiliating the popular (ironic as I mean both in the story and the real world) Jedi when he was one, using grace and style to slaughter the heavy handed and clumsy attacks of others - Dooku was so good he even said this to other Jedi MASTERS, criticising Obi Wan Kenobi in particular in this duel (original cut)...and Obi is ace tbh

Tyranus killing him as he nimbly demonstrated his full skills. Vader is a good apprentice. But he is no Master ;)

@ThePalaeontologist I totally agree with that his stupidity was his downfall, however, without his stupidity he would of become the strongest Force user/Dark Lord Of The Sith in history and the Jedi would of been completely obliterated. His rebellious nature is ultimately what brought balance to the Force, he was never fully obedient of Darth Sidious and contemplated killing him right from the start (check his speech with Padme before the Obi Wan fight). Classic tragic hero

@sgjuniordk Well, glad you understand like I do, that Dooku is a very significant hero character - though a few finer points are a bit wrong there. Essentially Dooku did not want to kill the Jedi Order to the last, it is said he actually wanted to convert the Jedi Order into a Dark Jedi/Sith Lord Army of Terror and Destruction. Another matter, is his 'stupidity'. Well, in fairness if Sidious was not around, he would be the smartest force user ever...but Sidious was a shade smarter. Dooku = 10/10

@ThePalaeontologist It's actually really stupid how powerful Dooku was portrayed in the second movie, and is killed within 10 minutes in the third movie.. His finesse and knowlegde of the Force makes him stand out whether compared to a Jedi or a Sith Lord. I guess part of the reason for his sudden demise is to emphasize Anakin's alarming aggressiveness and growth in the Force.. but then the way Obi Wan equals him to the point of frustration is a bit inconsistent in my opinion.

@sgjuniordk Well, I agree. But lets face it Lucas messed up a few things logically speaking. As for Dookus power changes...thats so true. Anakins alarming growth is the reason yes, but it could have been pulled off far better. Oh but Obi Wan is the one who beat Anakin...its that old row. Still I know what you mean. Basically, Dooku was one of the few force users alive who could compromise Obi Wans mastery of Soresu via sheer skill of alternate skills and powers. Obi was a GREAT Jedi, tbf.

@ThePalaeontologist And thinking about it makes sense, Makashi is all about energy-saving, quick and accurate attacks while Vader's super aggressive Form V is about a crazy load of insane attacks and while Anakin's fitness isnt put into question, probably watching all his attacks fail pushed him into frustration. Cant help but imagine that Mace Windu's Vaapad form would've been perfect for Vader; it would've allowed him to FULLY exploit his anger and frustration making him nearly invincible.

@sgjuniordk Oh Makashi Form II is my all time favourite Form of lightsaber combat. Its just beautiful in the right hands - Dooku being its most masterful of masters ever. However, though I get what you mean about Vader, I think theres still a lot to be said about why Dooku lost onboard The Invisible Hand; I am very sure that Dooku was double tricked by Sidious in the planning, into fighting poorly to allow Skywalker to 'win'...but then have Sidious rush in to 'save' Dooku. Sidious lied to Dooku.

@ThePalaeontologist Yes,just hate how Lucas left us with more questions than answers..the Clone Wars series do explain a lot of things, and Dooku did wanted to kill Sidious at some stage as well.Being more of an idealist and a gentleman, Dooku as you said never wanted to destroy the Jedi and prior to the Geonesis battle, he does give a speech on destroying the Sith alongside Kenobi. whether it was a trap or not is debatable , Dooku was proof that neither Jedi nor Sith have all the answers..

@sgjuniordk Oh definately. Kenonbis is iconic and my favourite Jedi Master saber. But as for ex-Jedi and Sith Lord Saber, Dookus is just in a league of its own. Curved is best, as or Makashi. The hilt guard is just great. I have drawn Dooku's lightsaber a few times. Made a few curved hilts of my own designs based on it. Well, if it has that much of an influence it must be a quality lightsaber haha

Coincidentally, I'm sure, Dooku's duels with Anakin foreshadow Anakin / Vader's with son Luke - Dooku cuts off Anakin's forearm / Vader cuts off Luke's hand. Anakin cuts off Dooku's hands and head (in the presence of Palpatine) / Luke cuts off Vader's hand (in the presence of Palpatine) and head (on Dagobah).

@Litshttam Yes, I knew this...but wait a moment? When you say he is Anakin's father, well, do you mean just predeccessor? Darth Plagueis's unnatural arts of the darkside experiments basically 'created' Skywalker from the force...which is why Sidious killed Plagueis for fear of being replaced, and Sidious set in motion such mind bogglingly complex events to find and dominate the Chosen One. Essentially Dooku represents not only the older generation of fallen Jedi, but a major part of Anakins.....

Just suppose during some reunion with his long-lost family he had an upstairs / downstairs relationship with a certain Shmi Skywalker, along with son Anakin, owned by Gardulla the Hutt before Watto, and before GtH...?
The Jedi mind trick - "Forget me, Shmi" - might explain why she discounts there being a father..

@Litshttam Haha, that is so...erm, what can I say, non-canon lol I know you are just making an idea, but tbh I really dislike that idea. It has no bearing, as Dooku, the Count of Serenno, was still a Jedi Master during the time of Episode I, even if a very maverick fgure in the Jedi Temple. He wouldn't do that..Anakin is an exception. Dooku was still bearing many Jedi traits even in death, and one of the ones he upheld was celibacy - he had an apprentice Komari Vosa expelled for living him.
