What a beautiful song! I have wished for many years that radio stations, especially "oldies" stations, would play more of Elvis' lesser known songs, such as this. He had so many truly touching songs that portrayed his vocal talents so much more than the five or six ancient, tired tunes of his that we've all been subjected to for forty years. I wish someone would have told him to skip this dumb song and the fancy voice lessons. I'm sick of listening to all his whiney, piney songs about his ex-wife dumping him for being huge cheat. Elvis really died in 1970. After that, a big, sweaty, over-indulged, drug addict dressed in clown pajamas took his place. By the end, Elvis impersonators were doing better shows than him. He couldn't even sell out his tours. He just stopped caring. He never should have fired the Colonel.
